  1. Hello Everyone! I have to be on semi-liquid for 2 weeks, which isn't until May 12th! Then I can start pureed food for 2 weeks. Funny how all doctors are different on what to eat. It is hard to come up with different things to eat. I like the smoothie idea and then adding protein powder to it. I have trouble getting in all of my protein. I really like everyone sharing their food ideas. It all helps all of us. Everyone have a good week. I'm going to try to go back to work tomorrow. I'm thinking just a half day--I have a desk job, so hopefully I can handle it. I haven't told my co-workers about what kind of surgery I had, so I'm not sure whats going to happen.
  2. I am glad to see I am having the same symptoms that everyone else is having. I have had several burps. I don't know what brings them on. If I could get my darn shoulder to stop hurting that would help a lot! I have been having cream of wheat, thin mashed potatoes, yogurt and pudding. I try mixing my protein powder with almost all of it so I can get most of that in. I don't think I'm ready for scrambled eggs yet! Does sound good though.
  3. I have had lots of shoulder and neck pain also. It's from the gas used to inflate your belly during surgery. I sure hope it goes away soon. I have some pain meds from the hospital to take, but I don't like taking it. I also have terrible diariah--I hope that goes away soon too. Good luck to you. Keep in touch.
  4. Hello, I was banded on April 28 and wondered if anyone else was. I still have some of the gas pains, but otherwise not doing too bad. I am having trouble getting all of the food in that I am supposed to.
  5. You're right~life is to short. That is why I'm checking into this also. I have been heavy 90% of my life, and I'm just tired of it! Dr. Hung is who I am supposed to see next week, and I'm excited to see what he has to say. I don't want to have to wait 6 months to do the diet thing, but I think my insurance is going to make me do that. I just want to do this and be on my way to a new me. :tt2:
  6. Hi Sue, I am new to this too, and I live in Lincoln, NE! It is nice to find someone from Lincoln just starting too. I have my consultation September 11, so I am anxiously awaiting that. I am sort of in the same situation as you with the amount of weight to lose, and so many failures. I have to do this for my health also. Who is your doctor? How has the process been for you (as I will probably be doing the same thing as you). After reading posts on this website I feel a little more comfortable about doing it, but there is still a part of me that wonders if I am doing the right thing. My lifestyle will be changing dramatically if I have the surgery, which is what I need. Good luck with everything and let me know how you are doing.
