I am awaiting approval from my insurance company. Does anyone know much about Cigna Health Care Insurance.

I have Cigna. I was required to do 6 months with my PCP (I had to visit him once a month, 7 times). After my PCP wrote my recommendation letter, it took 3 weeks for Cigna to approve. At first they denied me because I wasn't over 100lbs, but my doctor called Cigna and talked them into it (my thyroid is causing me to gain weight and not lose it). The approved me at 50%, so I had to pay 50% out of pocket. That was $6500.

It was a long road, but I'm finally there :)

I'm from TN also. What kind of Cigna do you have? I have Point of Service. Also, if you don't mind sharing, what was you BMI? My BMI is over 40 and has been for the last 5 years except for one weigh in where it was slightly less. I am paranoid about them denying me!

I am also with CIGNA BMI over 40 but one weigh in was 38.7 right after my latest diet then yoyo'd back up to 43. I am worried I will denied because of it

Guess i'm not sure what cigna insurance I have, I just know that I live in Arkansas and I have it. My BMI is 42. With no real health problems. Lots of diabetes in my family tho so that is a big concern. I have been overweight since the first grade so my weight will be no issue it's having no real medical problems.

If you look on the back of your insurance card, you will see a number for 'member services' they can give you all of the info that you need. First ask them if bariatric surgery is covered under you plan, and then ask them what the requirements are.

I have called my insurance company and they pay eighty percent. I would just like to know their approval ratio.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
