Errr... so frustrated

Recommended Posts

Anyone been frustrated with their Dr.'s office staff? I have been telling the person that schedules all of the appointments that I need to be done with everything (even surgery) before June 1st due to insurance change that is coming up. My last required class in next week. I have done everything they have made me do and now they are telling me that it will be a few weeks to see the Dr. and then another few weeks for the surgery. Why do they do that when they know that my insurance coverage will be changing soon???!!!!

Now they are telling me that I am taking up too much of their time by following up. This is so frustrating!!!

Anyone have any ideas on what I should do. No my blood pressure is really going to be high at my next appointment.

Stay on top of them. Let it be known why you are pushing so hard. If they continue to get you a hard time talk to the office manager.

I was in the exact same boat. I had a small window of opp. before my insurance was going to change and even a smaller amount of time to take off from work. My Dr. office was good about it and stayed in constant contact. My Dr. office had an insurance liason that worked with me and we schedualed the surgery before my final insurance approval went through. Stay on them, don't give up and good luck.

The person who told you that you were taking up too much of their time and resources should be fired! You should be outraged. Afterall, it is you and your insurance that is paying them their salaries!

Thank you EVERYONE for your support. I so want to tell the Dr about this problem but I am afraid that they will support their staff instead of the paying person.

I don't think I am being a B**ch about this but come on.... they started out being a really nice group but I am getting second thoughts here.

Be ready to start the pre-op diet that your office requires.

(remember, you and I have the same office!)

14 days of the Protein drinks - get the boxes and the shaker PRIOR to leaving the surgeon's office.

Here are my fav's and my not so much fav:

chocolate shake w/fiber ****

chocolate pudding ****

Tomato Soup ****

Cream of chicken Soup ****

pineapple Apricot shake **

strawberry Shake *

Hope this helps!! Good luck - let us know what they say on Thursday!!

I feel your pain. While I don't have the insurance issue I was really disappointed to find out today it would be the end of June before I can get my Pre-Op visit to see the doctor and another month after that before I can actually get the surgery. Was not a great way to start off the morning!

If the doctor doesn't know, he can't do anything about it.

Also make sure they know they won't get paid if it doesn't get done in time.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
