Still going...slowly
It has been just over a year for me and I have only lost 50 lbs. Believe me, I am very happy with that but I too thought I would have lost more by now. So I am learning to be patient and keep going and hopefully I will drop at least another 30 lbs this year if I am lucky.

December Bandsters 2009
Hi everyone, Well the countdown is here...only 4 more days for me. Nervous and excited at the same time. The nurse at the hospital told me I could take a xanax to calm myself the morning of surgery. I took a 1/2 today to take the edge off. This is such a big decision for all of us and I think we are all very brave to do this. So lets all pat ourselves on the back! Very good! My pre-op has been so so. I honestly haven't been very strict with it. The nurse told me it is not a deal breaker, so of course that led me to believe I didn't have to be too strict. I will be for the next 4 days. Only protein shakes and no added fats with any food I eat...which will be mostly protein. Need to drink more liquids to flush my system too. I hope those of you who have been banded are doing well and those of you in line like me are hanging in there. Looking forward to hearing more from all of you. LindaO

Getting Closer
Haven't blogged here for a long time...and it has been a long time since I began this journey back in April, but I finally have a surgery date. December 11, 2009. I start the pre-op diet next Friday, the day after Thanksgiving....which will be my last big pigout!

Doctor Recommeded Against Lap Band
I also think you need to do what you feel right about. Obviously there are pros and cons to all the WLS surgeries. I just feel like the LB is the least invasive and altering to our bodies. It is a tool to help. But the rest is up to us and how we deal with it.

May Events
It will be a very busy May with all the appointments I have coming up. This is good because I guess it means thing are rolling along. Last week I met with my PCP who is going to try to get enough weight loss documentation together to sumbit to my insuance co in order to waive the 6 month waiting period. Next on the list is the appointment with the exercise psysiologist and the dietian. The following week I have my Psych evaluation. And I also need to schedule my stress test. Until I know whether I can get the PCP approval, I won't know when I can have the surgery. I am looking at anywhere between 2 to 5 more months. But I figure it will happen when it is supposed to happen.
