Banded 3 days ago

Hi All. I was banded on April 9th. Today is the third day in and i havent been able to get more then a few sips of water in me. I was hoping today would be better when i woke up i tried to get some water in me and the first 2 small sips are just sitting in my throat. My gas pains seem to be gone. According to my Doc i should be starting shakes today. No way that;s happening. Anyone else still have trouble getting in fluids on day 3?

Hi Dwayne,

I know you are determined to be succesful after having Lap Band surgery. I am so thankful I was able to be there to support you last week during your surgery. I know you also have total support from Linda, Gabbie and your mother. Keep up the good work.

All our love,

Dad, And Mary

Im not Dwayne, Sorry. Just an update since posting this message. The 2 sips of water i had a little while ago are still sitting in my throat. I have a feeling i am on my way back to the hosp. I'm starting to regret my decision.

Skully:

Have you tried having a sip of some warm type of liquid - decaf coffee, decaf tea? I find that when I'm tight that warm liquids seem to go down easier.

Please call your doctor.

Hope you feel better soon.

I love my band.

so i am writing this from my hospital room. i have some inflamation around my band which is causing pressure on my diaphragm causing intense pain. ill be here a couple of days. i was hoping for a smoother start.

Things will get better..I was banded 4/7 and pretty much feel no restriction yet. When they get it right you will know.Drink slow and dont gulp. I am still on the liquid phase and am trying to have any smoth soup available. I don't like the protien shakes at all and that is a downer since i have to choke hem down:) I will wish you luck.
