Hi Everyone

Had my op on Mon at 2pm and can't believe how well I've coped with it so far. I haven't had any pain relief since Mon 5pm. I feel really well and happy. Its awesome to feel so full and not feel hungry or needy for food. When I first posted a few weeks ago I was abt 95kgs and am 90kgs now. Good luck when you have yr op Tarob. Its a big relief to have the surg and for it to have gone so smoothly. B4 the op I had heaps of fears and concerns, and that has all gone now. Take care everyone.

Sue

Hi Everyone

Its been 2 &1/2 wks since my op. The first wk I had great restriction. Since then I have had barely any restriction. It's been like trying to diet on my own. I'm completely disenchanted by it all at the moment. I can eat whatever I want, whenever. I'm trying not to, I still want to succeed, but it worries me that it is so easy to slip up on bad foods like lollies, chocolate, chips, biscuits. Aargghh!!! Apparently my surgeon doesn't do a fill until abt 10wks post op. The 6wk appt is just a check up. I have no idea how I'm going to restrict my intake on my own for at least 8 more wks. I've lost 1kg, which is better than nothing but I'm v disappointed in my self for not having more self control, ie doing better. I hope everyone else is doing ok though. Take care

Sue

Don't get down on yourself Sue. I was the same for a long while, because my first fill didn't do anything.

Its hard not to, I know, like I haven't lost anyting in the last 2 months but I have lost cms. Are you doing your measurements? Perhaps that may make you feel a bit better about the situation. In the 2 months I lost no kgs, I lost 2 inches off both my waist and hips. How that works, I dunno cos really muscle can't weigh that much lol

Thanks Trish and Leah. I'm back on track now and feeling much better about it all. It will b 3wks on Mon. and now I've lost 3kgs! Which has been a great inspiration to stay on track. Was prob being a bit impatient with myself. I also spoke to one of the nurses at the clinic. She reminded me to think abt whether I actually feel hungry, and to have a drink of h2o and go for a walk if I feel like slipping up. Simple but effective. Cheers, Sue

Hello, everyone. I am banded! but very sore and feeling sorry for myself right now. :tt1: But I am getting there, I feel better every day and now I am on day three. Nearly 29KG thats amazing I am really happy for you.

I messaged a friend that i had not told yet on my way to the hospital as she asked about a cryptic Facebook message, and she had hers done 6 weeks before hand, By Dr Anderson too  That made feel really better. I held myself together until I was in there, but then Dr Anderson and steven made me laugh then I was asleep.

Hope everyone is doing well

Tara

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
