Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life. I have been jumping back and forth from scared out of my mine to completely stoked!

I am fearful, anxious, excited, and motivated. I have been overweight my whole life and can't believe that it is going to be over. I have to admit... I can't picture it. I'm having a hard time seeing myself as skinny. What will I look like?! Ha! Seriously tho...

My surgery is tomorrow morning in Tempe, AZ. My parents won't be there but my BF will. I'm thankful to have him by my side.

Whew. Here goes nothing!!!!

Best of luck to any one else having surgery tomorrow or any time soon!!!

Haha. This morning on my way to surgery I found a window. It was perfect!!!! :-D

Everything went so well. I feel great and am up and walking around ever hour. I am not hungry! WOO HOO! My throat hurts a bit... nothing more than just a sore throat! As far as gas goes.... all is well. I haven't taken anything and it isn't seeming to bother me. My insicions are tender but bearable. Overall I am suprised at how great I feel!

I had a little anxiety attack right before I went in... just had to reassure myself that I was making the right decision. I started picturing the girl I saw in the window and my nerves started to calm down.

Thanks for all the positive words of encouragement. I've started my new chapter. I am thrilled.

Hotmama!

Good luck on your surgery. My best reccommendation is to just walk around as much as you can. Last night my BF and I took the dogs for a quick walk... I walked slow and it did tire me out for sure but I think it is making my recovery speed along.

I'm still not hungry... it is absolutely WONDERFUL!!!

This is amazing! Best decision yet!

Best of luck Aimtown!!!

If you have any questions feel free to ask... I'm still a newbie but may be able to help you!

LapLady,

Yaaa! Monday! I bet your so excited!

Pain had its toll on me yesterday. Day 1 was a piece of cake... Day 2 was a little rough... only toward the evening. I felt extremely weak and had some gas. Today is better. I am able to have more options with food... First two days I had to do a clear liquid and now the rest of the week just liquids. I am hoping that having Protein shakes will help boost my energy a bit!

Best of luck to you. I wouldn't stress too much about pain. It is totally bearable.. just have some drugs on hand!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
