Can my body really become a small size?

Can my body really become smaller like a size 8 or below? I don't even remember being that size--EVER! The smallest size that I can remember is 14 and that's when I was a teenager! I've always been overweight my whole life so I have nothing to use as a skinny me- there's never been a skinny me. Heck! I'll be real happy when I see size 10- that to me is tiny!

My goal is to be at 175 lbs and for me that's an attainable goal...However, I see many bandsters surpassing their goal weight and it makes me think that perhaps my goal is not challenging enough- for me?

Can anyone tell me when...

- Your mind finally clicked and you could "SEE" yourself in a small size?

- If you were ever feeling like I do and now you are a smaller than 8 size?

I feel very inspired when I look at profiles and I see bandsters in size 8 and below...But I think my mind cannot conceive of it yet... The biggest size I've worn is 24 at 257 lbs and 5'5"

Am I alone in feeling this way? I just haven't found any profiles or forums mentioning this issue.

Hi Jennifer7375,

Our "stats" sound very similar - 5'4" 225lbs vs. 5'3.5" 226.5lbs. Do you mind sharing with me how long it took you to lose your 51 lbs? Which, by the way, is absolutely AWESOME!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

MsYo

Starting wgt: 226.5 lbs // Goal wgt: 150 lbs:thumbup:

Pre-Op: 218 lbs

11 days post-op: 212 lbs:redface:

i was banded 02/24/09 so im 4 months post op. i was 225 the day of surgery. and thanks a lot it hasnt always been easy but its definitely been worth it. :)

 The smallest I've ever been as an adult, that I can remember, was a size five, and weighed about 120 lbs.--I was pretty smokin', if I do say so myself. :) My doctor freaked out when I told him that I'd love to be in the 120's again--he was suprised that I'd ever been there! So actually, my first weight goal is 160. I've developed some hormonal issues (hypothyroid and PCOS) plus I've aged, so I may never get to 120 again, and I'm OK with that. Once I get to 160, I figure I will evaluate my overall health and see how hard it was to get to that weight to see what I want to do next. My weight loss has been slow so far, but I can see the shrinkage! :tt1: I know I can be active and feel attractive at 160, so I won't stop till I get there.

Congratulations L12!!!! Kudo's to you!!!!! Keep up the good work towards reaching your goal!!!!

14.5 lbs gone // 62 lbs to go

I think the smallest I ever was as a child was a 12. Still, I'm almost down to a 6 after my weight loss. Really, unless you have a ton of loose skin that is keeping you from being small, there is nothing stopping you from wearing a small size. I'm living proof of that.
