Amen to that "Deb Up State NY"!!!!!!!! I concur!!!!! These testimonials TRULY inspire and motivate those of us who "have only just begun". I hope and pray (and wish and cross my fingers! LOL!) that this time next year - June 2010 - I will be a walking success story;providing encouragement to others who will be where you and I are now. Can my body really become a small size?
Dear IndioGirl, OMG!!!!! You look absolutely, positively stunning!!!! You look GREAT!!!!! I've been doing a lot of reading and to be honest, was becoming little discouraged. I've only lost 6 lbs since my surgery 11 days ago, and it seems that most people lose so much more than that during the first 2 weeks post-op. Anyway, I'm 43 years old and was banded 11 days ago on June 16, 2009. I'm 5'3.5" and weighed 226.5 lbs on June 1, 2009. I lost 8.5 lbs pre-op and 6 lbs 11 days post-op for a total of 14.5 lbs. I too set a "realistic" goal of 150 lbs, which is about a size 12 for me. BUT.......after reading your testimonial and seeing your pictures........I KNOW I CAN DO IT!!!!!! I WILL NOT GET DISCOURAGED!!!!!! I WILL CONTINUE TO DRINK MY PROTEIN SHAKES, SF JELL-O, SF POPSICLES AND CHICKEN BROTH!!!!! YOU HAVE JUST RE-INSPIRED ME!!!!! YOU should be the "poster girl" for the Lap-Band Forum!!!! Thank You for sharing your journey! Ms. Yo // "I've only just begun"

New- Surgery done 06/17/09
Hi, I'm "Yo" and I was "banded" on June 16, 2009. I have lost only 6 lbs since my surgery 11 dys ago, and 8.5 lbs pre-op. So, my total weight loss is 14.5 lbs thus far. I did not have staples though, and my first follow-up appointment with my surgeon is on July 30, 2009. I am assuming I will get my first "fill" at that time. I am very excited about reaching my goal weight and MAINTAINING it for the first time in my life! I'm reaching out because I too would like to have a "lap band" buddy/mentor. I have kept this very confidential and I'm not discussing it with many people at all. I would like to have someone who is "banded" to interact with on a daily basis. My only "problem" right now is the constant PAIN in my left shoulder, which radiates down my arm and up into my neck. I'm just hoping the pain leaves before I return to work on Monday, June 29th. Starting Weight: 226.5 lbs // Goal Weight: 150 lbs:thumbup: Weight day before surgery: 218 lbs Weight 11 days after surgery: 212 lbs

introduction
Hello fellow bandsters. I'm "Yo" and I was banded on June 16, 2009. I lost 8.5 lbs on the 2 week pre-op diet and I've lost 6 lbs post-op. So, a total of 14.5 lbs. I'm having difficulty getting the recommended amount of protein each day. I do have the protein shakes and they taste fine, I just can't drink the whole glass at one time. This is my first time "reaching out" to fellow "lap-banders".......I've been in agonizing PAIN of my left shoulder since my procedure!!!! I'm scheduled to return to work on Monday, June 29th and I truly hope I'll be able to perform my duties. I've been applying a mentholated ointment and heating pad to help resolve my pain. Is there anyone out there who was recently "banded" who has had this type of excruciating pain? What did you do to help resolve it? Is a 6 lb weight loss with-in a "good" range for 11 days post-op??
