Dr. Consult

Likely there is a list on this massive site somewhere. I have my consult with the surgeon on Monday, and I want to ask the right questions. I know they are busy, so I want to use my time well. What do I need to know that I don't know now?

When I was researching a doctor, I used WASaBubbleButt's "How to Research a Doctor" to make my own list of questions. That post is in the LapBandTalk magazine section, if you want to look it up.

Here is another list that may give you ideas:

Questions to ask your surgeon

:crying: Damn it Dan now you see why some of us don't line up to answer questions.

Now I agree that Dan has the manners of a camel  but I also think that he answered this post fine. But we can keep spanking him anyway. Dan's just one of those guys that you love to hate. Right, Dan? LOL :scared2:

His own statements are what damned him as far as communicating with me goes. I don't hate him or love to hate him or anything of the sort. He had offended me and some others, I gathered, by being very aggressive on another post. He expressed that he doesn't get along with women. I find that type of statement to be discriminatory and just as unacceptable if a person were to say that he doesn't get along with African-Americans or Asians. It really struck me as "you people" sort of thing to say. I am glad that I learned how to block his posts because that's not what I came here for. I don't enjoy having to defend myself. I came here for support, and I had just hoped to get ready for my surgery consult without having to deal with any nonsense.

Oops, my name has been used in vain again, so I will respond.

I defy anyone to copy and paste a post of mine that where I said I don't get along with women.

What I did say was "Since the forum is predominantly women, I would probably offend a lot of you"

If your'e gonna quote me, which I love and shows that you pay attention to me and care about what I say:biggrin: just quote me right.

 Damn it Dan now you see why some of us don't line up to answer questions.

Okay, Dan, since you know I love to tease you, I'm game!

See the quote from you above? Now I will copy and paste a piece of the above quote where you say it: "I don't get along with women."

Okay, okay, it's taken out of context, but you defied and I complied.

thanks this thread has answered my questions. i have my first consult with my surgeon march 4.

The way I see it, we have to keep our sense of humor and not take things too seriously. Not that anyone on this board ever does.

With all due respect, it does appear that you are looking to be offended to the point of insisting you will be offended one way or another. It's a choice on your part but not the best way to get people to jump in there and help you out with your questions.
