Am I Crazy??

Recommended Posts

hi everyone

i just want to know if anyone else has experienced what i have been for the last few months. I keep eating i dunno why but i do.Im not hungry i just eat for the sake of it. I then later go to bed and cry and think why did i do that? Its just more weight that i have to lose. Everyday all i think about is losing weight...i start a diet in the morn then by lunchtime its out the window.I dont know what else too do.Do u think the band will help in this situation? Somebody please help me and explain too me why i would be doing this too myself?? Thanks Fee

I've been like that at times. food can be like a drug and it can consume you. It sometimes seems like the more you focus on food and dieting, the harder being healthy becomes.

Fee,

food is a drug and "Yes" the band is going to help you. I was the same way before getting banded. Granted, it has only been 2 weeks since my surgery, but I can already feel the difference. I am actually full after a bowl of soup!

The band is a good tool and it will help you in a way that nothing else can. You will not physically be able to eat the amount you do today. I know eventually I'm going to have to face the depression that comes with giving up an addiction, but I'm so greatful this option is open to me now. Hang in there!

What you posted sounds exactly like me one month ago(except I'm older and I have cut the tears and just kept the disgust with myself).

When I first heard about the band the end of June, I just knew it was the answer for me. I'm 7 days out now and it's done all I expected and more. I wasn't sure if I'd have cravings or miss food and I really don't feel them very strongly. I wasn't sure if it would restrict me right off the bat before getting a fill but it is. I couldn't over eat if I wanted, I feel so full with so little.

For the first time I'm a little worried because I can't get in more that 350 cals a day.

So far, it's been the miracle I was searching for....and I knew it in my soul when I read about it and researched it... But your soul may tell you something else and so I suggest searching all options until you feel comfortable with whatever.

I just turned in my packet for the doctor's evaluation so I'm a LONG way off from surgery. I can surely sympathize with your plight. In face, I can imagine myself doing the same thing prior to surgery (after I get approved and a date) because I'll be thinking to myself that I won't be able to eat like that ever again. I'm sure you'll be fine. Be sure and talk to the nutritionist and psychologist associated with your MD and maybe they can give you some help. I imagine it would also help to pray!!!

I still feel like I eat to much at times or the wrong foods but over all I eat lots less than I did before being banded and I sure wouldn't think of it as a binge anymore. Its more like a really big snack.LOL!!! You will do great with your band and it will help you eat less and also there will be some things that you just can't eat at all anymore. For me its bread.I just don't do it cause it doesn't work well with my band.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
