My surgery was 4 days ago. The surgery itself went great. Was sent home later that day. Now I am having pain in the middle of my chest. Its like indigestion but very bad. The only pain I have from my incision's is the one where the port is and it is still swollen and tender. I can handle that but the indigestion or what ever it is, is so painful at times I want to cry. Does anyone else have this kinda pain? When will it go away? When will I get back to my life? Any info would be great.:huh2:

I had that exact same pain after my band surg.I even called my doctor at the time. All is normal even popcicles will cause the chest pain due to the fact that after only 4 days, your insides are swollen and your stoma is probally very swolen causing anything you eat or drink to cause the feeling. It will pass,i used to walk up and down the driveway and put my arms up to help it pass.. I hope this helps you and good luck to you.It will all be worth it in the end....:huh2:

I also had pain in the middle of my chest, it almost felt like it would roll up and the pain would get more intense and then calm down for a little while. I kept telling myself it was just the gas. On post op day 5 I started thinking it might be reflux/acid or even some type of spasam. I tried taking a pepcid that evening (I already take prilosec every am) and I felt 80% better within an hour. I checked with my Doc. and he said it was okay for me to take both of those medications for awhile, and he increased my doses. I have felt 100% relief of that pain. Good luck to you, I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for all of your support. I am 6 days post op and I feel alot better. Now I have gas stuck in my left side. I guess it travels. I now know it will go away, just not sure when. But the good thing is I am feeling better. Finally was able to eat some broth, not much but some.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
