Weight loss at 3 months post-op??

Recommended Posts

My surgery date was 09/09/08 So I am about 3.5 months out. I have lsot 27lbs since surgery. Lost 20lb prior to surgery. A total of 47 lbs in less than a year. I am very pleased with my weight loss. I could have never done this on my own and still kept it off.

Hi JMS, Thanks so much for the congratulations :)

I wrote this on another thread:

I do an hour of cardio, like jogging, walking on the treadmill(at a speed of 3.8 miles an hr or above) or i do 60 minutes on the elleptical machine with an incline of level 7 or above and 100 resistance. Then i lift weights, about 30 to 35 minutes. I drink a lot of Water as well. Let me know if you need anything else. hope you are all doing well :wink2:

FYI I go to the gym 5 to 6 days a week. About three times a week I do circuit training in the evening(squats, jumping jacks..etc).

I dont have a trainer. I watch youtube videos for fitness tips and subscribed to self and women's fitness magazine. Or I'll ask a sexy guy at the gym for help hehe.

I eat 3 meals with Snacks in between :w00t:

Thanks for the info! I get tired just reading about your exercise routine!! That's an area I am trying to improve on. I do my PT and ride my exercise bike, but need to increase time and days on the bike! You should be inspiration to lots of people!

I was banded on 10/13/08. I have lost 38 pounds to date. This has all been post-op. I was not required to be on a pre-op diet.

I love my band!!!

Thanks for the inspirational replies everyone!! I have my 5th/6th meeting on Jan 21st and then I'll be done with meetings/classes in February! If my insurance company (Highmark PPO Blue) approves the Bariatric Surgery Center at Magee Women's Hospital says the surgery is ususally scheduled the next month!

I ask because 3 months post-op will (HOPEFULLY) be around June/July and I'd love to maybe be down a size or 2!

Thanks again!! Good luck to everyone!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
