I'm getting ready to have the clam chowder. Yum!! I'm starting to dream about which foods I'm going to puree next week, LOL. If you had told me last week I would be dreaming about how yummy pureed food sounds I would have called you crazy!

I had some cream of wheat this morning made with milk and sweetened with pear juice. It was really yummy and a nice break from Protein Drinks. I think I'm going to be having that each morning and adding different things to Water it down and sweeten it. It's on my full liquid list as long as it's thinned.

It sounds like we're all doing much better. Here's to all our success!!

I'm cheap. I use S/F Carnation Instant Breakfast. I have been using the ready made bottles but I'm switching now to the packets as I am not tolerating skim milk right now so I need to be able to mix it with lactose free milk.

The hospital recommended the Ensure with Protein and the Boost with protein but all we have in those flavors are strawberry and vanilla and I just don't like them as much as the carnation.

Good luck, I know how you feel about making sure of something before buying the barrels, LOL.

That is too funny! I had Soup today and it was the best I have ever tasted! It is amazing how our bodies adjust! Yesterday I was going crazy for a different taste to hit my mouth, so I ate a tablespoon of taco sauce! It was the best I have ever tasted!

Trock,

This is almost like starting from scratch, isn't it? I get to have mashed potatoes on Monday and you'd think I'd been invited out for fine dining!

Trock, you are too funny. I can just see you having that spoonful of sauce. Way to go!!

I just got back from my first trip to the grocery store post banding. It was a strange experience. There were so many things that I love to eat that even looking at them made me a bit sick to my stomach. It'll be interesting to see when that changes.

I really liked the strained clam chowder I had for lunch. It was just enough taste to make me feel like I was eating clam chowder even if I didn't have the chunks in it. I picked up a ham and potato chowder at the store to try tomorrow.

I went to the store today to get things ready to go back to work Monday. It was funny when I went down the "chip" isle...I was looking at the Cheetos puffs thinking "If I ate them slow, they would just melt away in my mouth" Then reality kicked in and I moved on. I am going to try mashed potatoes tomorrow and see if that qualifies for 5-Star dining! I am sure that I will enjoy it.

My daughter told me that it was like starting ot eat all over again, just like a baby. I see what she means as I am on the pure liquid and the highlight next week is to progress to slightly thicker:biggrin:

Each day gets better and I look forward to being able to sit comfortably in an airline seat:thumbup:

Tiare,

Hello. I had the same gas problem for about 3 days. I am planning on beginning my workouts tomorrow, but at a manageable pace. 1 month sounds about right, especially if you are doing any resistance training.

I know what you mean about exercising. My doc told me no abdominal until my follow-up appt in two weeks. He strongly encouraged walking as much as possible until then.

New Zealand looks beautiful, it's on my bucket list. I'm glad you're doing well.

As of today I've dropped two more pounds (14 so far since I started my pre-op diet almost 3 weeks ago). A lot of rumbling in my stomach but I'm feeling pretty good. My energy level is not back to normal yet, but I was expecting that. Going to the Chattanooga Boat Show tomorrow (Saturday).

Hi Tiare,

Congrats on your banding. I was banded on 1/26. I already know that it's one of the best choices I've ever made.

I'm having problems with gas too althugh today is much better. When I lay in bed my stomach provides the sound effects. My doc suggested Gas-X strips. They seemed to help.

Good luck.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
