Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the warning! I'm glad you are OK now. I think we will all do something against the rules at some point and it's only when we are in pain or something goes wrong that we will learn! I'm really scared of sliming and PB'ing but I find it hard to remember to eat slowly and chew well but I'm sure I'll remember once something gets stuck LOL! As I don't have much restriction now I haven't had that problem but I'm sure it will come in the future!

Well done on your weight loss, keep up the good work!

Jacquie.

Very little restriction for me at this point. Leaving for vacation in Florida with my wife Sunday. We will have to walk a lot on the beach to keep me from gaining weight. I get my second fill two days after I get back.

Hi Julie,

The reason you may not feel anything now is that they can't get all the air out of the band during surgery. There is a little bit left. When they do your first fill the saline displaces that small amount of air and you may not feel like you had a fill in 7-10 days. That is what my doctor said to me. I am at the same point and have my second fill scheduled for April 7th.

Hope this helps.

Kara

Hey all! It has been forever since I have posted anything. The band is working slowly but surely. I have lost about 15lbs since my fill so Im down about 31 all together. I've been losing about 2lbs a week. I weigh myself every morning and write it on a calendar so if my weight is up a lil one day I know I better watch what I'm eating. Lately I have felt more hungry and like I can eat more when things go down ok. But at lunch I seem to have the most problems especially because I dont take my time but have a new puppy and I have to deal with him..I went to my first support group tonight and it seemed like we did was talk about was food... The whole time I was thinking we are all a bunch of people addicted to food and even though we cant eat as much we talk about it to make up for it... kind of mean sounding but I wish I could beat the mental addiction part..oh well it will happen... Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi everyone,

Back from vacation. I gained 3 pounds that week but have already lost it since getting back Sunday nite. I had my second fill Tuesday afternoon and I can now feel some restriction, but not a lot. My third fill is scheduled for April 21. No other weight loss, but when I had my fill they did a body fat analysis, and my fat-free mass (FFM)(muscle/bone/water) had gone up 3 pounds. I have lost three inches so far on my waist. I'm back to my normal routine now and should be back to losing some weight.

Hi Summertime! Congratulations 42lbs is great! I am down 25 lbs. I am struggling to find my sweet spot and having trouble getting food stuck. I have had it happen several times where I PB and throw up for a few hours. Hopefully I will find the sweet spot soon. Keep up the good work!

I had my third fill about two weeks ago and it has made a difference. I have lost 4 pounds since then. I'm going to have a fourth fill in two more weeks.

Hello. I haven't posted in a while. I have had 4 fills now, the last being Jan 15th of this year. I was at 280 then and creeping up. I am now 242. The sweet spot is the difference maker. Still partying on the weekends, but I stick to straight tequila. Cabo all the way!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
