holy crap, now I know what PB and slime means

so I made a quesadilla with low carb tortillas. I have eaten these before and not problem, but I used the bigger ones this time and did not cook to a crisp (left kinda soft). WHOA!

I never knew what PB was, I mean, I knew what it meant, but it is something to experience... and then of course, followed by sliming!. What an aweful experience, I could not even drink anything for 10 or so minutes (tired to wash it down... yeah, don't do that, I said to myself).

Anyway... lessons learned. I was banded in October and i am down to 243 (from 280) and wearing 38 waist jeans (haven't worn 38s since I was 16.

Anyway... if you don't know what PB or sliming is... I hope you don't have to find out, it really sucks!

It's not that bad. Come on. It tastes like what you ate. No stomach acid, no burning sensation.

I'm not saying do it, but it isn't something to fear.

Cheers

please tell me what PB stands for and what is slime?? getting banded on the 21st, been reading posts and this one really boggled me, what is PB and slime

thanks in advance for saving me from.....PB and slime:eek:

I believe that PB stands for "Productive Burping" which is a nice way of saying what you just ate returns from where it came :tongue2:

Can be preceded by hiccups, gasping for breath, sliming (massive production of saliva prior to and following the PB event)...

It's not fun, but teaches many important lessons including:

1. take smaller bites

2. chew your bites more

3. don't eat this particular food ever again

4. don't eat that quantity of food

Etc....I have found this out a couple of times with the following foods:

-cooked spinach

-Chinese food (the pork from sweet and sour pork - the light breading was the killer)

-Bread (fresh, untoasted, sandwich type)

-just eating past when I've had enough (before I feel full)...

I hope that helps,

yeah, that covers it! I never knew what it meant, then when someone told me, I never understood until it happened to me.... now, I totally know and totally never want it to happen again!

I had GERD a couple of years ago. It is basically an inflamation of the bottom of your esophagus, which causes the same exact thing. So even before banding, I know what PB is, and drinking anything usually just makes it much much worse, before it all comes back up.
