Ok Rebecca I got your update and got you added Carebear!

Finally have found some other December bandsters. I would like to join this group. I am joining late so I will set a realistic goal.

surgery date: 12/12/08

heighest weight: 262

preop weight: 262

current weight: 241

weight loss since surgery: 21

my end goal is to be: 125

goal for the rest of January ~ 5 pounds

Can I use the banner as well?

Ok got you added to the list as well! Please feel free to use the banners!

I only lost .6. I guess that is better than gaining. I just feel a little discouraged. I had my first fill last wednesday and am still hungry.

You can still be very proud of your loss. Remember it's not what we lose each week or even month. It's the end goal that really matters. It's going to take time. We didn't put this weight on in a day, month, or even a year. And so it's going to take time to get it back off.

Most people need several fills before they reach their sweet spots. Not very many people hit it after just one or two fills. Remember it's not the fact that you still get hungry it's the fact that you do have restriction and that you work the band to the best of your program.

Hungry is a sign to us that tells us that our body needs nutrition. Even after you hit that sweet spot on your fills you should still feel hunger 4 to 5 hours after you eat. But you shouldn't be able to eat as much too.

So work your program and thus with time the weight will come off! :)

Pete, Thank you for all the encouragment. You are right on the perspective I need to have. I had lots of restriction at lunch today and I think my body was telling me to be patient. My next fill is February 4th. My husband says I should just look at the inches I have lost and how my clothes feel. This website is so aewsome because your comments were just what I needed.

hey sorry I've been MIA my weight is now 260

Thanks!! Whenever I'm having a bad day and feel like i'm going to lose it I just say that verse over and over again... He gets me through! :-)

Hi All,

Wow, I can't believe how much I am learning from you all. 1st of all, I feel great about the 30 lbs I have lost since my pre-surgery liquid diet. However, I am at a standstill (well, gain and lose). After reading on here, I think my problem is salt. I am craving salt and iron like crazy! So I have been eating a lot of spinach (covered in salt because that is the only way I can stand it) and everything else- salted. How can I break this AND give up carbs and fat and chocolate and caffine and carbonated beverages!!! It is not fair. What else can I do? Guide me!!

I'm down 2 lbs, but it has been a real struggle. I had my first fill and I don't think it's enough restriction. I'm hungry for the first time since surgery. I'm back to craving ice cream and bad foods. It's been a struggle. My next fill appointment isn't until February. I am trying to stay motivated until the next fill. Any motivational words are appreciated. Let me know what works for you. Thanks.
