ready to drain my band

Recommended Posts

Hi, my md in Houston retired last year. Now I dont have a md to handle my case. I am pretty much as full as I can get. I have lost 80 lbs in 18 months. I am tired of not being able to eat any meat. I am hungry and want some real food besides Soup. Where can I get my band drained in the Houston area? I have my records.

Your doctor didn't refer you to another clinic that does lapband? You might want to check the internet for some one. I'm sure Houston has several physicians. If you're coming to SA anytime soon, I can refer you to mine. He's awesome.

True Results has a clinic in Houston, their website is:

www.trueresultshouston.com

Hopefully another member can refer you to some one in the Houston area. Look under the 'mentors' forum, you might find some one there.

If you are so restricted that you can only have Soup, then according to my doc, your band is too tight! I was told the goal is to be able to eat just about ANYTHING but in much much smaller proportions. There are many great surgeons in Houston; perhaps a visit to the "Doctors and Hospitals" forum can steer you to one.

Please reconsider a complete unfill; statistically people who do that gain it all back. You worked hard to get where you are today....just go a little farther and work with a new surgeon to get you to the good spot where you can eat most anything but don't gain.

As another poster said, it is your choice of course. Either way, that forum I mentioned may have some names for you. Good luck!

Call Dr. Garth Davis, he is in the Medical center. He should be able to help you. He did my band and I am very impressed with what he has done for me. 713-528-0597

You should not be so tight that you can only have Soup. No wonder your ready for a complete unfill. I have heard good things about Dr. Garth Davis. You might want to try him.

Congrats on your weight loss.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
