1 week out and doing fine.

I had my lap band placed on December 15 and I'm feeling great. I have practically no pain and I've already lost a lot of weight. I'm really looking forward to these next few weeks to see how well I do. I can't wait to get around here and meet new people, get information and track my success.

Good luck to everyone.

Wednesday I will be three weeks post op, and I am doing great. No problems what so ever! So far I LOVE LOVE LOVE my band....I have steadily been losing weight and that is my goal. I have not had any problems with foods so far, and I hope that it stays that way! I can eat a lot more than I thought I could eat, but it is still not even a fourth of what I used to eat. So all is good!!!

Have a great holiday, and keep staying positive !!!

Wow that is great I was banded on 12/15 and had my first post op appointment today and lost 7 lbs. Did you have to do a pre-op diet? I am wondering if I am doing something wrong since I did not lose that much. Any suggestions. What are you eating?

the heavier you are the quicker it comes off. I wouldn't worry. My doctor said I could gain during the first month while I heal

I was band on 12/18 I feel great . I did have gout in my big toe on the third day at home. It hurt more then the band did. Well I started dec. 4 on my diet and I have lost 31 pound. The DR. put a 14cc band on me with 4cc in it. I think I feel it put I have not ate anything but shakes. I will find out on Chrismas.

I had a 1 week liquid diet before surgery and that is where I lost 8 of my pounds. My doctor told me not to expect any weight loss until my first fill, right now the band isn't even working since it isn't filled. I'd say the only thing I'm doing is making sure that the liquids I do have are low calorie (as tempting as it is to have a milk shake ).

You're losing weight though so I wouldn't worry, sounds like you are doing great.

The heavier you are the chances that you will lose weight faster are pretty good. I had a one week pre-op liquid diet. So my weight loss is calculated since my pre-op diet.

I think the thing I keep telling myself the most is that everyone reacts differently to the band. It is hard when you see people banded on your same date, or close to your date not to compare though! My thougths, for me personally, are as long as I am losing weight I am happy! I can't compare what my body does to everyone elses.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
