I just got banded yesterday. I'd love to give and recieve support. Anyone interested????

Where are you if you are just an hour post-op. I am getting banded by Dr. Ortiz on March 22. When you are up to it tell me more. I am so nervous and afraid it won't work for me. Do you live in California?

I am by the nurses station, they have computers there for patients to use. I am from San Diego. I was so stressed and shaking before my surgery, but when it was all over it was so easy. I'm very happy with Dr. Ortiz.

Good for you! Thanks to you I will probably go through with the procedure. I will be there next wednesday. I live near San Francisco, in Benicia. I have been stressed and a nervous wreck. I am so happy things went well for you. Nice to know there are computers available.

Thank you so much for the vote of confidence on Dr. Ortiz. I have been so anxious about this. I will probably continue to be anxious, but at least I know things should work out ok. Thank you.

I live in Anaheim Hills, CA (Orange County). Just got banded on 3/12/07 with Dr. Nguyen at UCI in Orange, CA. I've lost 12 lbs so far.

I'm new to this site so it's nice to meet everyone.

Finally someone else from UCI, you're the first one I've seen. Mabye we can meet up at a seminar, I'm planning on going to the one in April. Dr. Naim did my surgery, but I have met Dr. Nguyen. I love the Dr.'s, but the hospital experience wasn't that great. I did meet someone else from Anaheim Hills(she was my roommate!) in the hospital. She was banded by Dr. Nguyen 3 years ago and lost 130 lbs.! Her band slipped, so she had to have it fixed. Small world, since I live in Yorba Linda.

Are you sick of the diet? I'm getting tired of it and still have 12 days to go!

Yes, I'm going to the April meeting. I would love to meet you. I see you just got banded, 2 days after me. Let's try and hook up. We both need the encouragment as we lose the weight. Maybe we can walk or something.

My hospital stay was great! Everyone was really nice and helpful. What happened with you at UCI?

And yes, I'm tired of the pureed foods, etc. I see you and I are about the same weight too. 269/262/250 highest/surgery/current is my weight.

My next appt w/Dr. Nguyen is on Thurs, 4/5. I'm hoping he says I can go to the next phase of eating something solid.

Hi Stacy! Nice meeting you. So far so good. How are you feeling? I had the port pain too, pretty sore, huh? As for the gas, I was told to try taking Milk of Magnesia to help relieve some of the gas. It worked! Also, try not to eat too much dairy, that may cause some of the gas feeling too. Or at least it did for me.

I'm feeling much better now and the port pain is minimal now.

Keep us posted on your progress as well.

Yipee!!! I lost another pound!!! Seems so little, but every little bit helps me get to my goal weight. I had lost 7 lbs before the surgery and now 13 since the surgery. That's a total of 20 lbs!!!! I'm so excited!!

I would recommend Dr. Ortiz at Obesity Control Center. His website is www.obesitycontrolcenter.com. I had an excellent experience there!

I am also a Cali Bandster, and wanted to introduce myself! Dr. Bobby Basker-Rau is wonderful and very knowledgable and skilled in both WLS. Anyway...hollar to my cali peeps!

Hi, everyone! I'm a Cali bandster too. Congratulations to all of the new banders as well as the future banders. I was banded in Nov. of 2005 by Dr. Bhoyrul at Scripps. He's the BEST!!!
