i wish i could stay away from soda..i did til a couple of weeks ago!! I cant beileve how addicting it is..of course i let it set and get a lil flat but still...my doctor says u can start soda in month 3 and if ur not reasy for it try it in month 6 but i couldnt resist! hopefully i can stop

I quit all of my vices within three weeks time. On day 1 of my pre-op diet I quite Diet Pepsi, Caffeine and sugar I had my last cigarette the night before surgery and of course since then have kicked my addiction to food/emotional eating.

About a month or two post-op I went through a couple of weeks of being a ball of nerves and desperately looking for an outlet. Admittedly alcohol came to mind a couple times but I made it through without picking up any new bad habits.

I guess my only regret it taking on all of that at once but I figure what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger! I am very proud of myself now.

Drinking throush a straw or drinking while eating. yikes.

hELLO CONGRADULATIONS ON YOUR SURGERY, I AM SUPPOSE TO HAVE MINE IN JANURARY WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE ME TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESS, WITH HAIR LOSS THE GAS AND REALLY WHAT TO EXPECT:tongue2:

Ditto! Sweet tooth for me, but that will never go away. :)

I regret not kicking my caffeine addiction pre-banding. I had some terrible headaches in the beginning but was off the caffeine.

I am now back to drinking my coffee and tea like a naughty girl. What can I say . . . I am weak that way, lol

My doc laughed at the suggestion that you cant have coffee, so dont feel guilty Heather.

I know though that I wouldnt be able to drink my normal amount of coffee and that I'd had to save my stomach space for more nutritious fluids. So I began to switch to decaf about 2 months before surgery, a cup a day per week. I was off caffeine totally for 2 or 3 weeks before surgery. No withdrawal. Then I went back to drinking it when I was healed up.

I dont know why I didnt just stay with decaf and allow my normal five or six instant coffees a day to creep back in. I do fine without the caffeine, its the ritual of a hot drink that I like. I drink all my Fluid hot just about.
