One year later and still losing......

Hi,,,I am from Kentucky. I had the lapband surgery one year ago and am still losing. It has slowed down a lot but as long as the weight is still coming off, I'm happy. I have lost from 214 to 150 in one year. I go and get a fill every 8-10 weeks. I will have my 4th fill on December 23rd. I started out wearing a size 18 jeans and now I am in a size 9-10. I do not regret one minute of the surgery. I am 52 years old, so losing has been slower for me because of my metabolic age. I have severe arthritis and do not exercise as much as I should. When it gets close time for another fill I start getting hungry. I had my surgery in Ashland, Kentucky at Kings Daughters Hospital. Would love to hear from someone. My e-mail is llowe1956@yahoo.com

Hello Brandy. I read your blog and enjoyed it. Your wedding dress looks great. I have lost 64 pounds in one year. My weight loss is slow. I have went from 214 to 150. I am 52 years old and I think the age has to do with the slow weight loss, but I am happy to lose what I have. Seems like I lose alot in the legs, face, arms and neck, but the stomach and breast are going down very slow. I would like to go somewhere and get a fitting for a new bra. I have no idea what new size I would wear, because you can't try them on in the stores. I may go to Victoria Secrets and see what they can do.....Good luck and you are looking good. I will try to post some before and after pictures of me later. By the way, how do you post the ticker weight scale on your mail?....

It is Unjury....My mistake. It is a protein drink that you can order. It comes in Vanilla, Chocolate and unflavored. It has very very little aftertaste. You can even get soup mixes also. They have their own web site too with many recipes. My doctor and nutritionist both suggested very strongly to use

wow thank you for the info!! Good to know.. yeah its hard to get that 70 grams of protein a day for sure.

I buy both the choc. and vanilla. I add 1/2 teaspoon of peanut butter with the vanilla and some crushed ice and it is like a milkshake. You can use the vanilla and add 1 pack of orange crystal light with a scoop of sugar free ice cream and it tastes like a dreamsickle bar. You can add any flavor of drink mixes and it works out fine. The unflavored you sprinkle on your foods and you will never know....I order mine online and it is delivered with 2-3 days. In the choc. I have even tried 1/2 teaspoon of decaf instant coffee and it is like a mocha.

Thanks. I'll try that brand. I heard Oprah (so you know it's true!! ) say that Skinny Cow makes great sugar free products. I plan on trying that as well. I've GOT to get ahold of this before I'm back where I started. I'm trying to hold off until after Christmas to get a fill. I've got 4cc in a 10 cc band. What do you have?

I have tried the skinny cow too. But be careful and check the carb. content. I was suppose to go for a fill on Dec. 23rd but the dr's office called yesterday and changed by appt. for Dec. 30. And, as far as the size of my band; when I asked Dr. Tompkins he said I had the "standard". I don't know what cc's that is. I have had 4 fills and each time he puts in 1/2 to 1 cc. I am going to ask this time and see what I have.
