Any of you know if Best Buy takes things back without a receipt? his gma got us a digital picture frame, but it's one that doesn't work unless you sign up for a $10 a month photo hosting program (scam!!!). Don't want to hurt her feelings and ask for the receipt, but it's a $150 frame that we're not gonna use..

I made the best.. BEST alfredo sauce I've ever had in my life last night. I made tortellini w/meatballs, and made alfredo sauce.. my parmesian had molded, so I used a 6-cheese italian blend instead, and it was ...so...good. I just picked out the meatballs and dipped it in the sauce. Also put peas in it (I sneak peas into any Pasta dish I make so we have veggies, and Russ won't eat peas unless I cover it in something else).

One of my lights at work, due to the flooding we've been having is leaking water.. so I keep hearing it drip drip buzz.. waiting for it to explode or something.

yum! your alfredo sounds good. i never make cream sauces at home because juan doesn't like them. i only get to eat them if i'm at a restaurant... which i think is actually good now that i think about it, LOL...

I'm hungry too, and since Russ is home sick I'm fantasizing about where I can go (we never agree on places, so there's my favorite restaurants that I never get to go to).

Slacking on my Water this morning, been running around too much.

I filled up my water bottle with sugar-free grape koolaid today. Mmm.

Laura, You could call them and tell them it was a gift and see if they will give you an in-store gift card for it. Or tell you gma that you need the receipt because it is broke and you need to return it. Than if she ask, just tell her they didn't have anymore and you bought something close to it.

those are good ideas suzy!

oh why oh why can't i ever keep my mouth shut? I seriously need to just tape it closed. and this has nothing to do with food but it would help in that area too. One of my biggest things that I have to work on is keeping snide comments to myself in my relationship with Juan. Or just generally biting my tongue about stupid stuff that doesn't help the situation. Sometimes I manage to swallow whatever I was about to say but then it just festers in my mind and that's all I can think about. I wish I could just swallow it and just forget about it, but noooo. I gotta say it. Whether is hours or days later.... Ugh. why do i do that to myself?

Hi~

Haydee, technically Abbey is not my birth child. She is my step daughter. And my SIL does not care for us, because we butted our noses into their business in an effort to look out for Abbey and he resents it. It began with her going to Denver with us for her Uncles funeral, just before they got married. His Mom offered to hire someone to follow Abbey so that they knew if she "behaved". Then we butted in when we offered to buy her a car, because she was walking 1 1/2 miles on a 6 lane highway to her job, because he didn't want her driving his jeep or his truck-both meticulously cleaned with q-tips in the vents etc. on a regular basis. So.....he dislikes us.

The depth of that come out this morning.

Abbey was told to call at 6 AM to make sure they had a room for her induction. She called, they told her to come in about 7:30, which put her in right with a new shift. Last night we could tell she was getting irritable with all the calls etc, she answered her phone "no, no baby yet!"! So....we waited to hear from her this morning.....nothing. Rick called to see if I had heard (like I would not have immediately called!!!) When I said no, he decided to call our son to see if he might have already called so as not to have 100 calls going in while they were trying to get her settled. He called, and was told the baby was already here. When they hooked up the monitor the baby was in distress so they C sectioned her. Rick ask him when he heard this, and he said something snotty about he called, like saying Rick should have, he said my Mom did and she is going up there. Rick called me, he is sooooo beyond hurt, and masking his hurt with anger, he is almost not able to talk. I know Abbey is likely just now coming out of recovery and I hope to God she calls her Dad....he is refusing to go up there right now, he knows he would get into it with the asswipe SIL.

I called DIL, to see if son had said anything more to her....and she said SIL was an ass to him too, in fact his Mommy answered his phone, he was getting a drink, and he had to call Lenny back.

So I have a new grandson, I do not know when he was born, whether he and DD are ok or not, how big, what his name is or anything. I only know I have some work to do to calm Rick down. I wish all kinds of horrible things on some people right now. Heart break does not begin to cover it. Maybe chocolate will help...I could sure put some away right now, but am doing my best not to.

It did however show me that perhaps the Dr. is right, and stress was/is causing the hives, I am a mass of break outs now. Started last night---with Kinsey's Dx. Then this morning.....I look as wonderful as I feel.

Thanks for all the well wishes for the baby and Kinsey, I do appreciate it...even if I don't mush sound like I appreciate anything today.

Hugs~~

Kat

Step away from the chocolate Kat!!! It sucks how this has come about, but the bottom line is you now have a new grandson!!!! You'll get to see him soon :)

Went to lunch with a coworker, Russ called and said "Is it bad if I vomit blood?" YES! So I told him to go to the medical places down the road. Waiting to hear an update, although those places take forever so it could be hours..

I agree with Michelle. My pride has gotten in the way of sharing important moments in life with the people I love. Talk to Rick and just let him know that what jackass did was wrong but those feelings shouldn't get in the way of your love for your new grandbaby. Love you Kat, lots of hugs your way today...

Haydee-why should you NOT be able to say what you are thinking? Keeping it in is worse IMO.

Kat-I would go to the hospital just to be a thorn in his side.

Laura-keep us posted on Russ.

Oh Kat.. I'm so sorry to hear about all the grief surrounding what should be an awesome experience. Abbey's husband sounds just awful and neither you nor Rick have any reason to be treated the way you have been. I certainly understand Rick's anger and your hives. Take care of and support each other. We're here for you to lean on. Our prayers to your family.

I've been good on my eating again today. I had a slice of cheese and a couple of bites of yogurt for Breakfast and a piece of talapia for lunch. Kris brought Ethan some french fries and she had chinese take out. She's left for her doctor's appointment and Ethan's mom just came and got him. She got out a couple of hours early today and I'm happy I have some quiet time before choir. I just took some peanutbuttered pinecones rolled in bird seed out and hung them from the tree branches. We had a ton of birds this morning.. a good sign of a storm. It's still snowing out and the Bobster has already done one pass on the driveway with the snowblower.

I better take advantage of my quiet time and get some house cleaning done. Ethan tends to leave it like a tornado hit it.

BBL...

TracyK - i'm not talking about keeping my mouth shut on important stuff. Just about petty stuff. Nitpicky stuff. I just feel like I'm always running my mouth just to run it. Example:

Juan likes this particular jacket. It drives me nuts that he'll wear it over and over again when he has 6 others in his closet. Why do I even care? Why should I even say anything? Let him wear whatever the hell he wants for goodness sakes... but usually there I go running my mouth about it.

This constant need to nitpick manifests itself in all aspects of my life. The only one I don't do it to is my mom. With her I am able to just let things go and poof they are out of my mind immediately. Not so with others...

Shame on you girls! I finally dried up all my tears and then read your posts, and I just wanna say I love you all!!! And I have no idea what I did before you!

Abbey called Rick finally a few minutes ago and was just starting to tell him everything, 8 pounds 12 ounces, 21 inches long, born at......and a nurse come in needing to do something so she is supposed to call him back. I told him in no uncertain terms in one way or another he is supposed to know that we were NOT notified in any way or we would have been there.

I will update as info comes in. I in no way would take this out on her or on the baby--I love them both more than I know how to say-----but honestly have been fantasizing about wrapping my hands around SIL's throat.......maybe choking him with his Mommies long frizzy hair..............

Much love and appreciation to my girls!

Kat

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
