Well I did it!! I am offficially a bandster! I had surgery on the 4th and I am just a little sore around the port, but doing well! I just want to encourage anyone who is scared, and anxious as I was, it was not terrible. I also had my gallbladder removed at the same time, so I got a double whammy! (still I am doing well) I am on the full liquid diet for 14 days and then on to mushies, so far this morning I tried to eat one packet of grits and was full half-way through...awesome this band does work!!!! Okay lets see how it goes for now, good luck to us all!

I was banded on Dec. 2. I came home Dec 3 and have been on clear liquids for 5 days. No major issues, pain has decreased each day, and I'm able to move easier today. So sick of liquids ( I swear I smell like broth and jello)! But I'm dealing with the hunger, keep sipping my water. And watching live tv can be tormenting, never realized how many ads for food. But I've eaten all those foods and they never brought me what I wanted right?

Pstroud- I have had the same issue with the shoulder pain and the burping. I had my appendix removed laparscopically and had the same problem, and other shave told me me they had the problem. I think its from the gas they use to inflate your abdomen, and it needs to escape after surgery. This seems to be the same with the burping. So don't worry.

Hi everyone!

My countdown has begun!! I go for my hospital pre-op in the morning. I start my 2 day liquid diet on Tuesday morning....and I get banded at 8 a.m. on Thursday, December 11!!!!! I am a bit nervous but relieved that the time is finally here!More to come...

HEY ALL! Congrats on the banding thus far. I'm banded on Dec 18th in AZ. A little nervous. Hoping for great results

As I sit here with my cup of coffee going down fine and helping my constitution as it always has if you know what i mean I am just amazed at the miracle of this body I temporarily possess and it's ability to heal! I feel healthier 6 days post op than I have in years.

NADZ: Take it easy on the pre op diet ...just do the best you can. 12/16 sounds like a great date....I'm excited for you....it will come and go and you will be so glad you took this step you will see! good luck! m

Pre -Op bloodwork on the 22nd band on the 23rd of December I can't wait, kinda of nervous also. I can't wait to start my new life going to be a Christmas that I will always remember:thumbup:

12/11 here too  Started my pre-op on the 1st. Excited and nervous!

I got a call from my surgeon's office this morning. I have been approved. My surgery is scheduled for Dec. 19th. I have to start a liquid diet tomorrow. I really wasn't expecting to hear anything for a couple of weeks, but I guess the sooner the better.

Hey all,

Just wondering how everyone is doing. I have been banded for 1 week. I lost 10 lbs. What a journey. I am eating a little more everyday. The gas pains are almost gone. I had a few gas pains in my shoulder, but nothing significant. I have been back at work for 3 days and I am no longer taking any pain meds. The psychological hunger is not there anymore. Especially since I'm on mushies now. I love my instant mashed potatoes! They are keeping my cravings down. So excited and happy.

The greatest thing is that I am now going into my closet and trying on a bunch of clothes that were too tight. Everything seems to fit like a glove now!

I would love to hear from you. How are you doing post op? Who is still worried about the preop diet? Who has just been banded?

Hi everyone, I am doing my pre-op diet right now, i started early to wean myself of those nasty carbs!!! Have lost 15 lbs in two weeks, and surgery is on dec 23rd so hope to lose more by then. All is going well, have major excitement about getting banded, and have learned so much from this site. Keep up the good work everyone. Blessings for Christmas.. Nicci:thumbup:

Hey My Fellow December Bandsters, and God Bless everyone of you. Well I'm scheduled for Dec. 18 and boy I'm so excited. The pre-op diet is going well had some challenging days but I made it. When I felt like I had to have something due to dizzieness or jittering I would eat some crackers and I felt fine. This is my seventh day and I doing well so far I lost 12 lbs. Continue to stay positive will talk to you all later.
