Recommended Posts

Hey everyone just a question?? I'm like 9 days post op & the hunger seems to be getting worse everyday instead of better? Is this normal?? Please tell me I'm not always going to be this hungry??I still only on liquids for like another 6 days but it is so rough.I'm getting very irritable with my family & feeling kinda down.Any advise I know you've all either been here or are going to be here soon. Thanks in advance.......:)

post op time with no restrctions will let you get hungry. Post op is really not weight lost time, but a time for healing. Until the band gets restrictions you will be feeling hungry. Are you stomach hungry or head hungry?

It's called Bandster Hell, lol. Yeah, it's rough, but it will get better once you get a fill. It may even take a couple of fills, but you will get there. Hang in there.

If you are hungry, move on to mushies like oatmeal and yogart etc. It will help fill you up. Why be miserable and hungry?!

Hang in there! It's important that your band be able to heal right now. I was hungry from when I woke up in recovery until I got mushies so I feel your pain; but it gets better. Don't cheat (I'm sure you won't!) because it can make your stomach churn (to digest) and mess up your stitches holding your band in place around your stomach. You'll make it! :)

I am day 14 (well its after midnight, so day 15), and I have been hungry since around day 9. It got serious as the days went on. I had to just eat more when I could and have yogurt or pudding in between meals. I also started having cravings, as a result of my cycle. I wasn't expecting that. I think that may have been the reason why I was so hungry. I had to remind myself of what was going on with me mentally and physically. I got though the moment.

Now all I can say is that I'm so tired of creamy Soups and after my appointment with the doctor I will be treating myself to something. I'm just not sure what it will be. LOL! Hang in there girl

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
