Why is it so hard....

to get back on track after being naughty? I read this statement a little while ago and well....after this weekend I can well and truely relate. I went to a bandsters lunch at an all you can eat. I had great restriction when I walked in I swear. I walked out after eating everything I had felt like the past couple of months. At dinner time I thought I may as well have junk since I had already blown it that day and start good eating the next day. Woke up Sunday and did the same and again today. *sigh* I just cant seem to get back on track and the 2kg weight gain since Saturday doesnt seem to be helping me.

Any ideas? *Help*

ok stop!!!!

I have done exactly the same the past week and for 4 days have eaten "normal" amounts and food.Still same portions than my 4 year old.

but I kept on nibbling stuff all the time.Yip,diet ice cream (2) crisps low fat (2) yogurt full fat.....little block of chocolate (havent done that since banding) even had 2 slices of toats......

And everyday the scale just moved up and up...

Today do something drastic.Sit down and decide what you are going to eat for the day.Plan it and do it...drink your Water.Look at yourself in the mirror....

If all else fails do the cabbage Soup diet (LOL)I am......and it sucks but Protein with veg seems like heaven now....

OK,I am doing therapy for myself in your threat,sorry........

I know, I've been eating Ice cream for the last two days because it goes down so easy.

Then I think about what I felt like after surgery, the twelve thousand I charged to get banded and then think what the hell am I doing. I've stuck to diets hundreds of times, I have to make this work. So I say to myself, suck it up and stop eating or else this is for nothing. I hate to be blunt but why do we do this to ourselves?

I hope you get back on track and feel better.

Junk food craves junk food

Once you put the carbs & sugar in your mouth, you willl graze all day, never be satisfied and never be full..this is a proven fact.

Start your day with strictly Protein, it curbs hunger and cravings! NO CARBS & Drink lots of Water. I have been where you are, I know how you are feeling, it is a battle but a baattle that can be won :)

Hang in there...PROTEIN..PROTEIN...PROTEIN today, no carbs, no junk! You can do this :)

One Day at a time

Something else is going one, you didn't gain 2 kg of fat since Saturday. I'm not saying you should get things undercontrol, but 2 kg is probably Water. (2kg is about 5 pounds)

Hey Kel,

Perhaps its something in the Aussie Water, cause I've done exactly the same thing this weekend. I was so excited to see 101.3kgs on the scale on Saturday morning. Told my hubby that when I broke the 99kgs barrier, I was treating myself to a massage and facial. It seemed so close!

Then this morning I stepped on, weighing in at 103.4kgs.

Grrr... :/

I tossed a baggie of fresh veggies in my purse this morning figuring I'd have them for lunch. But I forgot I brought them and didn't have them at lunch (uh, there were nachos here, you decide.) Do you think I'd have forgotten a bag of Cookies in my purse? Uh, no!

So I'm getting ready to leave for work and I found the veggies. God is with me today, cause I actually ate them. Good girl. :)

Being bad is just so easy.

I would think that going back to a liquid diet would help you to regain control of your eating. Would going back to having liquid Protein Shakes for your meals help you get a grip on things? even if it were only for a few days until you could feel like you have a sense of control over food again.

I have been on the Liquid Protein shakes now for 6 days and have already lost 14 pounds. I plan on keeping the powder around the house and office for those days when I feel out of control.

I am fortunate that my insurance is paying for my procedure, but there are women in my support group who have mortguaged thier homes to have this surgery. I just can't imagine putting that much money into it and then sabatoging myself. I can't imagine how I would feel if I found out that I stretched out my pouch. I think the risk of that happeing would keep me from overeating. My plan is to treat my new stomach as if it were a brand new PORCHE car that I just bought. Maintain it and think about it, and all the time and effort I invested into getting it.I want to keep imagiang what it will be like to show off my new porche. The idea of revealing the me that I have hidden away under all my weight is so worthy of having control enought to push that plate away.

I plan on thinking of bingeing or overeating as getting into a wreck in my new car. odd way of thinking? maybe so? but I want to do what ever it takes. The other day I was craving the candy dish of skittles on my coffee table. I walked out side and gave them to a little boy playing in a nearby yard. hence my temptation is gone.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
