I'm happy with my weight loss to date and I've had to weed out all my 18's, 20's & 22's because I'm wearing 16's now and I just don't know what to do with all the ones that are too big. I've got to get the closet cleaned out so that I can go shopping. I'm looking for suggestions as to what "the experts" have done with theirs when they got too skinny to fit into them anymore. Thanks in advance.

Please dont take this the wrong way......whenever I am reminded of my old clothes and what to do with them, I think of the commerical from bow flex " I gave all my fat clothes to my fat friends"

I know it's kind mean but was just had to mention it.

Depending on the condition and quality of the clothes, another idea is to take them to a second hand shop that buys good used clothes for resale. I've never been one to spend a lot of money on clothes (Lane Bryant catalogue and Wal-Mart) so mine probably won't be worth much there. But some people do spend more and could get some money back to buy new ones!!! In days gone by I have taken to our local resource center for the needy and also given to a "fat" neighbor who moved here from CA and was so happy to have some winter clothes.... I have also enjoyed ripping some up for rags!!!!!!! It was a hoot..... Julie

There is a thread in here somewhere where you can donate your clothes to whomever is in need that is transitioning from sizes too quickly. That helps a lot because you lose weight too fast and it gets quite expensive to be buying clothes every other week. you just let them know what you have and maybe arrange a way for them to pick it up, or ship it to them. or you could make a quick buck by posting them on e-bay (Just Saying) Hope that this helps you some.:thumbup:Congrats on your weight loss!

I started out as a 24 and am now a 16. I needed money to purchase new clothes so I had a MAJOR garage sale. I posted it on craigslist.com, and sent out an e-vite to everyone in my address book. Large size clothing sells very well. I made it a $5.00 sale. Most items (blouses, pants, dresses etc.) My better clothes were priced higher. I had people calling me the night before to come and look at the clothes. I made approx 1000.00 dollars.

It was worth it!!!1

Why not try and locate a women's shelter and donate them? Those shelters are a place for women and families to start over and clean clothes are a part of that process for alot of them. Your local police dept can give you the number *but maybe not the address as many of the residents are in hiding from abusive companions/spouses*. The person who answers the phone will be able to tell you what they take/need (and will accept other clothing as well i.e. kid's clothes)

Just a suggestion :)

Just wanted to update everyone. Somone locally from the message board contacted me privatley and we met over the weekend and I gave her all my old clothes that are too big for me now. It felt good to share. She offered to pay, but I refused. I just hope one day someone will repay the favor to me - - -sorta like pay it forward. : )

I've just been donating clothes to goodwill. I don't work outside the home, so as long as I can have a couple pair of jeans and some tops to rotate, I'm fine. My yoga pants and tshirts that I wear around the house, I'll wear untill they fall off me, LOL.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
