The surgeon's office submitted all of the paper work the 16th of Oct. I am scheduled for surgery the 10th of November. Should I call the insurance (cigna) to see if they received everything? How long until I know if it is approved or not? Thanks!

It took Cigna a month to let me know I was approved...and the only reason I knew in a month is because I had to strong arm them. I called them everyday for three weeks. Finally someone messed up and told me I would know by the end of the week (during week 4.) So when I didn't hear by the end of that week, I called and force them to give me answer. I had to let them know that the surgeon was waiting for a reply because I already had a surgery date scheduled. Don't back down! Stay on top of them. Good luck!

I am in the same boat you are. My information was submitted on the 13th and I started calling on the 14th. I call about 3 times a day. Good Luck!

I have the same scenario. My paperwork was sent to my insurance company on 10/14/08 and I'm still waiting. My surgery has not been scheduled yet. I hope it will be soon.
