The best advice you will ever get regarding the band:

Recommended Posts

Downward dog is extremely easy. Its basically like bending over and with any yoga position, you only do what you feel comfortable with. I think the whole point here is to get your head lower than the pouch, so you could easily do similar by hanging your head over the edge of the bed.

As for unstucking a stuck - not happened to me yet, but many people I've spoken to swear by having a fizzy drink on hand and simply taking a large mouthful. The gas seems to do it.

My first thought when I got stuck was to panic. The big question pops into your mind: "What if I can't get unstuck, what then?"

I quickly found that what won't go down will come back up. I have also found that if I let nature take its course that it will come up without literal vomiting. For me, if I sit on the toilet and lean over a trash can it sort of "falls up".

I had a lot of stuck times between my first and second fill. Now that I have had my second fill, I am finding that I do not get stuck as much and that I get the "full" feeling instead and I am learning to stop before getting stuck.

I have also found that if I have something to drink such as a glass of Water or a cup of coffee (decaf) about an hour before I eat that I don't get stuck. I guess it is that "opening up the band" thing. Cold drinks seem to open it in the morning and warm seem to keep it open during the day.

Well I had a stuck experience last night (ate out and ate too fast and thus didn't chew as well as I should have). Anyway as soon as I started to feel some type of pain, I stopped eating. And it just kept getting worse. For over an hour I was in a lot of pain and then the last fifteen minutes were so bad I called the hospital and they told me to go to the ER. And then - boom - the pain went away just like that. I mean one second - extreme pain - and the next second - gone. I guess that pain was the food moving through the band and then when it went through the pain was gone. I knew not to drink anything. But I have to research that yoga position. But it wasn't just discomfort for me it was severe pain. And I've only had one fill.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
