Hi , my name is Eydie and I live in Okotoks , Alberta. I had been scheduled to have gastric bypass surgery in Arizona on Oct. but have since changed my mind and am scheduoled to be banded on Dec. 3 in Edmonton , Alberta. I have fought the weight battle all my life and am really looking forward to having this new tool to help me succeed.:tongue2:

Hi, wish you lots of luck getting a date for surgery soon. Why did you decide upon the band rather than a bypass? I had really decided on the bypass but when my province decided to fund my surgery the doc up here suggested banding rather than bypass because of less complications etc. I worry about how much weight I will lose with the band...seem to be a lot of negative posts about problems and not losing weight etc. but I will give it my best shot.

Eydie:rolleyes:

I decided to do the lapband because it has less complications. I also love the idea of not having my major organs cut. I need to lose about 110lbs and Ive read lots of stories on here of people who have lost that and more, so I am confident that if I put in the effort I can do it too. You will do very well, just follow the rules and the weight will come off. If you ever need to chat or support, Im here!
