Mine only says don't eat a couple of hours before so that the stomach is empty and we can judge how well the Water goes down. Afterwards I can eat when I am ready, they just say eat cautiously.

They said the reason they dont say to go on liquids the rest of the day is because sometimes it takes a day or even a few days for a fill to "kick in" and they didn't see any significant benefit to going on liquids the first day or two. Just go by feel, if it feels ok . . . you are fine, but if you pb you need to back off and take it easy by going on liquids.

My doctor has the two day rule. 2 days liquid, 2 days mushies, and then back to regular foods cautiously.

How weird. My doc doesn't make any rules about liquids or anything after a fill. They just have me drink some water afterwards to make sure it goes down. There wasn't a "0" on the poll.

oops. I read it wrong. I voted 9-13 days since I though it was asking post op not post fill. I only have to stay on liquids 48 hours after a fill.

My surgeon's guideline is no food/drink by mouth after midnight the day of the fill - not even water. Then clear liquid diet for 48 hours after the fill. No mushy stage.

I usually only do for one day. But soft foods for the next day or two.
