  1. Hello Curiousinoh, I have alot of the same problems you are having. I go out to eat, but always have to check out where the bathrooms are at. I usually vomit atleast once a day. I am down 65 pounds and feel great even though I am still not at my goal. I just can't seem to get the fill at that perfect spot even 2 years later.
  2. Hello, I was banded in Dec of 09. I have been having the same issue.....either no restriction or puking up just about everything. I know the feeling. I have lost 56 pounds tho. As of right now they have emptied everything out of my band for 3 weeks to see how I do. Well I am worried I will gain in the next 3 weeks:) I am happy that I have lost weight but I was really hoping to have lost more by now and very frustrated with the filling and unfilling! Why can't I get it just right? I wish you the best.
  3. I am 10 months out from my lap band. The issue is I am always too tight or loose. I cannot seem to get it just right! I have had 2 episodes where I have had to go to the E.R and get hydration. Anybody else have this problem? It's frustrating. My weight loss has been at a stand still now for over a month.
  4. I always check out where the bathrooms are before ordering also! Now I see that I am not alone. LOL. I always get the funny looks when I tell them I don't want anything to drink. I don't even want to order water because then I am tempted to drink it and that will only make things worse.
  5. Same here. Bread and Meat do not work. I mostly eat seafood now. It really doesn't even bother me to not eat those things anymore.
  6. I agree with rockstardiva. I can feel my food go down often. Again....prob when I don't chew well enough. Then it hurts! Ouch. Real cold or hot food as well.
  7. Stay there. I am often swollen right after fill and then it loosens a bit too. Good Luck
  8. Hello, I was told atleast 15 min prior to eating and 30 min after. I find that if I drink with my food it comes back up. Especially a big gulp....bad news. It is hard to do but it gets a little easier with time. If I can give up soda than anything is possible! That was very hard for me.
  9. I also have fed BCBS. But I get 6 months worth of fills for free with my doctor. Next month will be six months so I will find out and let you know. That is horrible if it is correct! This insurance is usually really good so that's hard to believe.
  10. Don't you love when people stare because they can tell you have lost but won't comment! The skinny freinds are defintately my best support.
  11. I was banded Dec 3rd and have lost 34 pounds. Just wanting to see how everyone else is doing. I excersise 4-5 times a week. Watch what I eat, but I do cheat with an occasional cookie or ice cream. Hope all Dec Bandster's are doing well!
  12. Same here. Hicupp all the time. Especially after I eat.
  13. Sil, You're transformation is amazing! You look fantastic!
  14. It can happen alot if you are too tight. Once you figure out your perfect restriction, not so bad. You will figure the things you can and cannot eat. Right now I can not eat any meat, but fish is okay.
  15. I have 6.5cc in a 9cc band. Good restriction. Went up to 7cc and was way to much. Unable to keep anything down with that much. Im down 34 pounds since Dec 3rd.
  16. I usually only do for one day. But soft foods for the next day or two.
  17. I was told the other day when I went to the E.R because I was unable to keep anything down that my port has flipped. After poking at me for almost an hour they finally were able to access my port. Thank goodness. They were going to have to do a revision. I go back in 3 wks and hopefully I won't have to have any surgery. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
  18. Great Job! Keep up the good work. You have done fantastic!!
  19. I think the fills are great! As long as you don't get too tight. I too would not have had the surgery if I wasn't going to get the fills. I had no restriction before them. My advice would be to start with a small fill. Good Luck to you.
  20. I have to agree with the others...9 pounds is great for 2 wks. There will be times you will have plateau's unfortunately. I do too. One of these days soon you will get on that scale and have another good weight loss! Good Luck
  21. If its been three weeks and it hasn't gotten any better than I say get a slight unfill. Sometimes after a fill I am the same way but usually better within a week. Mornings are always the hardest. I stick with a protein shake for breakfast. Good Luck to you.
  22. Unbelievable!!! That is sooooo awesome. Was your weight loss slow in the beginning? I am 3 months out and have only lost 26 lbs as of today. Im getting discouraged, felt like it should be more.
  23. I am a nurse. Surgery on a Tuesday. Went back to work the following Monday and was fine.
  24. I also was filled 2 wks ago. Went up to 7cc in 10cc band. I am also afraid to eat anything. Have had several "stuck" episodes and vomiting. I thought mine would get better but it hasn't. I am down 5 pounds in two weeks so I hate to complain....don't know what to do!
  25. I am 3 months out. I would be extremely careful eating solids after 12 days. Especially seafood. Shrimp gives alot of people problems. I did soft foods for a couple of weeks then slowly added in solids. Just be careful. You are in the healing process. But congrats on your band and welcome to the group!
