How are everyone's incisions? I am shocked at how good mine look!!! They are so small and healing so quickly!

My incisions look pretty good too. I was also surprised at how tiny they got. I've started using those scar strips on them and when the strips aren't on (you only go max 12 hrs) I rub Vitamin E into them. I think the four small scars will heal completely and the one big scar may be noticable, but not bad.

I still have a lump under the skin and right over my port tho it's getting smaller too. And the VERY sore part right next to my port is MUCH better since I've been wearing a girdle at night to hold it in. I can finally bend over without searing pain!

I am not really losing the last few days. Ihave walked every day for at least 30-40 minutes. I know it probably isn't a big deal, but maybe the Soup I am buying has too much cream in it??

I also lost a bunch of weight then stopped cold. I figure it's the body taking a breather. I also got ol' Aunt Flo this week and I think she headed off the loss. Right after she left I lost another pound. It's just the body getting used to all the changes I think.

Could you handle a protien drink? I still preband but sometimes when I don't feel like eating in the mornings I take a water bottle and a baggie of protien powder to the gym and mix water/protien powder after the workout. If you can't handle it with Water, I'm sure you could find fat free milk somewhere, alot of fast food places even carry it now. If you are able to eat mushies maybe a ff sf pudding that you can mix a little ptotien powder in? They sell them in little cups that you could just drop in your bag. Pretty much anything you could mix a little protien powder in would be great. Also some of the protien drinks aren't so bad room temperture..I think the eas advantage coffee house drinks are okay this way.

Protein usually takes the munchies away when I'm hungry, and if I have to have something to eat, I usually try sugar free Jello - or the Breyers fruit Bar - no sugar added - they are only 25 calories. On occasion I have had Skinny Cow Fudgcycle, and V-8 I also love.

I'm a week after you, and I'm starting to get those hunger pains, so far, I've been able to fix them with protein.

I'm going to a BBQ today where it will be obvious I'm not eating - which I'm not thrilled about - oh well.

I didn't even think about this - I should be starting anyday!! I am just REALLY READY to start working out - how weird is that? I have a lot of energy, probably because my mind knows that I CAN:T work out yet.

I don't know about the scar strips - I have just been using mederma like 4-5x/day.

My port was KILLING me on occasion the last few days and I was giong to ask if anyone else is having that problem. I mean it is hurting worse than right after the surgery. It is a little better today, so maybe it is getting better.

Indelicate questions. OK - banded 6/30, my stools are slimy, and dark. I wish I could check them for occult blood - I'd feel better knowing I wasn't bleeding.

I am on liquids with Protein - is that what stools look like at this stage of the game?

my stool hasn't been right since banding! different every time it seems. I didn't have a BM for like two 1/2 days then yesterday it seems like that is all I did.

Not sure what to tell you on that one though!!!

I am really hunrgy today as well. I am eating pureed food now, I am not having any problems with them, but I am not really full quickly!

OH jeez! The BM demon! I am having such a hard time going. I havent been in four days and I am about to bust. I wish I could go period. Not sure what is up with that. Anyone else having this problem? I go to the nutritionist on Thursday and I get to start my mushie stage. I am so looking forward to that. I will keep you updated on things. I havent been on much due to having two extra kids during the day. I will try to be better. TTYL!

I took some meds to get "things moving." I felt so much better later. :)

I don't mind the Protein Drinks at room temp so much - I mean, I will do anything (as I already have) to get to where I need to, however, I was wondering if there were anything else out there in big blue world for the mushy stage that is mobile in a backpack. I just can't wait 'til i am able to pack a lunch in my backpack - but, heck, that will be in August, which is when I will not need to be on campus anymore - whoo hoo!!

But, what is the consistency of the BM when you are on liquids and Protein - mine is just black/Green and slimy - is that a normal response to this - or odd - anyone know?

Oh honey, you have no idea how glad I am to hear you say this. I've been scared to death about this very fact! VERY black.....or green...ew....VERY slimy. I personally am still having liquid BMs a lot of the time as well, but even when they are solid they are the oddest color and yeah, slimy.

Don't know if it's "normal", just know I'm having it too and I was banded a week before you.

I know that I've read that when people do a liquid fast (like that lemonade fast) that they get a lot of mucus out and also lots of dark stuff clearing out the ol' pipes so I'm hoping that is what is going on. Tho I've been having mushies for a couple days now and my BMs are still black.

Plus Aunt Flo has visited me and that isnt helping things. I feel like I am falling apart right now but I know it will get better. I wish I knew what my poo looked like! LoL

My husband was cleaning the rugs in his TRUCK and pouring out the Water (that he sucked up) into the toilet. I wandered in to the bathroom and saw the toilet - I thought - I don't remember going to the bathroom. Then I realized it was HIS.

I kinda chuckled to myself that it was my first reaction when I saw that nasty mess.

Generally it's liquids in, liquids out. If you are constipated, however, as some of us are during the liquid phase (also, anesthesia & pain meds cause constipation) you can try Phillips MO, it's really gentle & helped me a lot. Some people take Milk of Mag. or Senecot. I still have to take stool softners regularly. (excuse the pun)

I moved to soft foods today - I had two Protein Shakes and then for dinner I had about a tablespoon of each - egg salad and tuna salad.

It wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. Ithink that I am just scared that I will slow my weight loss! I haven't been as big of a loser as most of you.

I have started losing again though!!! I cried on the way to work today because I fit into a skirt that I bought last year thinking I would be able to lose the weight I loved it so much and they didn't have my size - of course it has hung there with the tags reminding me of my failure. - today for kicks I tried it on and IT ZIPPED - I fixed my hair and everything (this was a big step for me lately!)

I felt like I looked really cute for the first time in a long time. (granted by the end of the day all I wanted was the damn shoes and damn hose OFF of my body!!!!!) But it was really great to feel like I had made the right decision - this might really work for me!!!!

How is everyone doing?? - besides those darn BMs?? :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
