Banded on 9/25/08 - Am I supposed to feel so rotton?

My daughter was banded on Sept. 25 and is having loose stools and feels like she is going to vomit. She says it's more intestinal and does not have any pain in the upper part of her stomach. Her doctor said it may be a stomach bug, but I was wondering if anyone else has had these same problems. She was told to try soft foods at this point like eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, fish etc... She feels the food is going down ok and not getting stuck or anything. So why is she feeling so yucky?:tt2:

The flu is going around everywhere. Make sure she has plenty of fluids and if she starts to get really tired and weak she may be getting dehydrated. GOOD luck.

Sounds like it is normal liquids in liquids out (I had that side effect) and the nausea must be normal because my surgeon sent me home with 3 anti nausea meds/ if she is still taking pain meds that can make you nauseas.............I would start out with something bland I was able to take some cream of rice Cereal (baby section) with a little sugar...it was heaven and not too heavy.

She needs to follow the Doc's advice always above all, but she shouldn't try to worry nerves can also make nausea worse..

Good luck, keep us posted.

I had the same problem. I was banded on 9/23. I had loose stool and constant upset stomach for a while. As soon as I moved to more solid foods it became better.

I was just banded yesterday, but I also was told that with a liquid diet expect liquid bowel movements. They also sent me home with some nausea medicine and said take it at the first instance of feeling naseous so I wouldn't puke.
