yes, that's the barium going thru. (if you click on the picture it gets bigger)

i had 5.7cc's in a 10cc band but i kept PB'ing and let it go on that way for over 2 months. when i went for a check-up a couple of weeks ago we took out .5cc's and while i don't feel much restriction anymore, i'm not PB'ing either.

this pic is me with 4.7cc's in the 10cc band. you can see how i stretched my stoma but it should hopefully go back to normal soon. i can't get another fill for 2 months to allow my stomach to heal again.

i just thought it was cool and decided to post it. i'm just surprised i haven't seen more of these pictures posted!

I think it's cool too. I never thought about asking for a picture when I had this test done. If I have a flourascopy again I'll definitely ask for a pic.

How bad is the barium to swallow? I'm going to get my next fill this way and want to be prepared for taste texture etc. I've heard that is is really disgusting, and I don't want to gag it all over my Dr.

i never thought about asking for a picture either.... the nurse offered it... i wish i would have gotten a "before" pic of the band with too much saline along with this after shot.

usually you just have to take 1 big gulp of the barium for the flouro which isn't too bad. it's thick and a little chalky but i ended up having to drink over 4 ounces of barium that day since we were testing my band.

i was so into watching the liquid flow thru my body that i didn't really taste the nastiness of the barium lol

Wow, that was great you were able to get that pic and post it. It's very interesting for anyone who has a Band or anyone who might be interestted. Thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
