  1. Thank you for your prompt reply! I have sent you a pm. I sure look your pictures and you look GREAT ! Take care
  2. Corliss, would you mind to tell us more about your procedure: Doctor's name, cost, time for recovery, anything you would changed, I am thinking to have it done next year in Mexico during Summer time because I am a Teacher :bored:
  3. :smile:Allo from the East Cost. I had my lapband in August 08. I lost 60 pound so far. I read diligently all the comments from Canada's banders. I do not feel alone that way. In NB, we have one doc who does banding with a waiting list of 5-6 years. We have a second new doc in Bathurst (Thanks God) for those who need that procedure done faster. Now he is very busy. I choose to selfpaid my procedure in Montreal (Rockland clinic) The best !!! (16 000$) Now, I just want to tell you that for any info about your doctor you go on Browse Doctors | RateMDs.com (Rate my doctor from Gooble) This is a website which rates any doctors of many countries : USA, CANADA.... and it is FREE. So save it in your favorite for now on, and you can check any comments of regular patients like you satisfied or not, about their Doctors. I hope this will help and pass the word. The better we communicate, the better we are informed. Sorry for my English and take care of yourself. Madame Suzanne :bored:
  4. JoannMarie, you got me curious here. What is that 5 day Pouch test?:smile2: I was banded August 08. So far lost 60 lbs and I am happy with what I am today. I am on a plateau since June (172 lbs +- 1 lbs) If I could break it without killing myself with exercises that would be a plus... So what is 5-Day Pouch test thing? ** For all of you reading my message, I really appreciate ALL your comments. I am here by myself (no body to talk about Lapband except my HB). Thank God for the Internet. No matter the distance, I feel warmth from you, my sisters Lapbanders ** sorry for my English, I am French :wink2:** Suzanne
  5. Clempier, I had my lapband in Montreal, August 26, 08. I lost 60 pds so far. I too love my band. I was wondering, when you see Dr Savoie. could you ask him if he does refill? I need to go in MTL each time (3X) so far. I am due for july 10. I wish I could have it done in NB. Dr Beausoleil is a God here who is way too busy to touch someone like me (selfpaid + having it done in MTL). Just let me know through this blog if he can. I am all alone here in south of NB but I realy enjoy read all these messages across Canada and USA. Glad that you are doing good ::grouphug: Madame Suzanne
  6. Oregondaisy you said <With the 5 day pouch test you do 2 days liquid protein, 2 days soft protein, things like tuna, then one day hard protein like chicken. No carbs.> What is that pouch test is for? Madame Suzanne
  7. Hi all, :smile2:I am from NB but I was born in St-Hyacinthe. I went to Montréal for my Band on August 08 at the Rockland Clinic. That Clinic ROCK !!! I had Dr Henri Atlas. He was assisted by Dr Garneau that day. So I was in good hand. To this point I lost 60 pounds. I feel great and I do not regret to drive 10 hours for the surgery. I paid 16 000$ so what? A car plus maintenance is more expensive  I had so far 2 refills at Dr Atlas Office (no need to go to hospital) It goes well each time and it is not painful either. Here in NB we only have ONE surgeant (Dr Beausoleil) about 6-8 yrs of waiting. So my decision was easy. If you want to know more about any doctors, go on Rate my doctor.com and you select Country, province, last name and Tadammm you can read what people said about your doctor. Anyway this is my band aventure. I am feeling alone here in NB but I read everything on this wonderful website. This creates an easy way of communicating among ourselves and I like that contact. Sorry for my english I was born in prov. of Québec where most of my life I lived . Take of yourself and your band Madame Suzanne :laugh:
  8. Bonjour Clempier, thank you to let me know about New doctor Savoie. I have checked his rating on Browse Doctors | RateMDs.com and he seems to be a very good doctor. Do you know if he does filling too? Next month, I am going to see my doc Henri Atlas in Montréal. I hope I will have my first filling and then be able to have it done in Moncton or Bathurst if possible. He has talked about that when I saw him on the 26 of August. You know what? My son and daughter went to BHS for 2 1/2 yrs when we were living Caraquet. After that, we moved in Campbellton for 7 yrs. I was teaching for District 15, now I am teaching for district 6 here in Rothesay. This is a small world. I am wishing you best of luck Clempier. Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving and I am very thankful to have my lapband now. It is worth the 16 K that I paid in Montréal. Let me know how you are doing Clempier. Best Regards, Madame Suzanne :smile2:
  9. Let us know how it went ! Good luck
  10. Thank for the information. I cannot wait to have my first fill. Madame Suzanne
  11. Oupps !!!! I forgot to ask: Do you speak francais?
  12. This would be fun! I have never met anyone (in personne) who had a lapband. I will let you know. For the moment I am doing find. I lost 3 pounds last week. I guess the stress of teaching... I sleep weel and I enjoy life ! Talk to you soon  Madame Suzanne
  13. Hi Geneviève, Coincidence.... I graduated from U of Moncton in 1997 in BED. I am a French Immersion Teacher for District 6. We live in Hampton. As you know a doctor who does lapband surgery is so rare in the Maritime. Dr Beausoleir of George Dumont do not take any patient unless you are half dead!. So I choose to pay and go to Montréal (being born in St-Hyacithe area). I will see my doctor next month for my first fill.... I am still loosing slowly but my scale makes me smile now. What about you, when did you graduate? Do you work in your field? Take care ! Madame Suzanne :smile2:
  14. Oupps.... I mean I will have my Post-op appointment.... Sorry
  15. Thank you Geneviève for the information. I will keep his name. I have my pre-opt appointment with Dr Atlas at the end of October. At that time, I will probably need my 1st fill. So far so good. I am loosing slowly since I am back to school. My appetite is not realy back yet. How are you doing? Did you have your first filling? Madame Suzanne
