July Butterfly NSV's!

Recommended Posts

I thought that we should really have a thread to put our non scale victories on.

Here's mine. I put on a pair of pants that I had been avoiding before surgery because they were too tight, now they fit very comfortably!! I also have clothes that are too big now!! YAY!! And a pair of pajama pants that I couldn't wear before I wore last night!!

k i have a lot.

I'm down from a 22 to a verrrrry loose 18:)

My blood pressure dropped from 120ish/98ish to 109/70, I might be getting those numbers wrong but basically a month after surgery my BP had dropped dramatically and my doctors were really surprised.

I no longer get as worn out from walking or climbing stairs.

I have a waist again!

I have friends that gave me a hard time about the surgery that are now jealous of me...sucks when your fat friend becomes competition again I guess lol

My stomach no longer touches the steering wheel when I drive, though its a long time before it gets anywhere near small lol

I don't constantly think about food, or feel really guilty about gorging or gain all my weightloss back in ONE night of gorging...I've done it before:(

I've gone from 51-42-52 to 45-34-46...somewhere around there lol

Congrats on all your NSV's!! I was size 22 now down to 18 and can even fit into 16 in some styles. I have not been that small for at least 9 years. I can actually run now. Never have I been able to run during a workout. The biggest NSV for me will be when I can get on my horse without using a fence, or mounting block. That will be a changing point in my life. I am still struggling, but maybe another 6 weeks and it will happen for me. :w00t:

Last Tuesday morning I was in a rush as I had to go out of town for my job. I was gathering up my Tae Kwon Do uniform along with a t-shirt. I didn't pay too much attention as I was rushing and didn't have my glasses on so I couldn't see the tag on the shirt too clearly. When I rushed into Tae Kwon Do that night to help out in a class, I put the shirt on and it fit a little closer than I usually like, but it fit. I pulled it off and this time I had my glasses on. It was my daughter's t-shirt...a size Large. I have not been in a size Large since I don't even remember when. I was doing a happy dance for the rest of the night.

I was a 26/28 top and a 24 bottom, I now wear 20/18 bottom and 22 tops. My closet is empty, my cloths dont fit. I gave them to Goodwill.

I'm a school bus driver, I no longer zig-zag down the bus asile. I can actualy walk stright down the asile and dont bounce between the seats. And my belly doesnt touch the steering wheel.

I have more energy!

OMG! I sleep better, I sleep like the dead! I dont snore anymore and my back no longer hurts in the morning.

And the best NSV, my dd hugs me and tells me "Mommy, I can wrap my arms around you when I hug you." Thats the best one of all.

Tina

Everyone is doing so awesome!!!

I put on a pair of jeans this week. If you knew me you would know that I haven't worn jeans in almost 2 years because they were always uncomfortable and finding them in my size is a pain.

I am now fitting into a size 24!!! in JEANS!!!! I was definitely a 26 pushing 28 and getting worse. Since I have been a slower loser this is a big deal for me!! YAY!!!:thumbup::eek:

this one is a bit disappointing but...And it's funny because I've only been like really obese for a year but wow...can I tell the difference when losing weight...

People are looking me in the eye. They will look at me when I walk into a room instead of trying their hardest to avoid me. They will actually talk to me more.

So sad...but true.

Well today g@ a college open house with my DD#2 when we went into the classroom i was able to fit in the desk chair, and did it without thinking - with DD#1 i would stand at the side so as not to get stuck in those chairs. Woo Hoo

Today, I discovered that when I pick my daughter up, her legs can wrap all the way around me...I can also run for 20 minutes straight and not die!

I went to a play at my daughter's highschool and I sat in the auditorium seat(70 years old, so made smaller) and I WAS COMFORTABLE!!! :thumbup:It felt awesome. Last year I went to a show there and I was miserable the whole time.

I also went to a hockey game last night and sat in those seats easily. I didn't have to EASE into it like last year. It was amazing.

I know what you mean about people treating you differently. I have had guys flirt w/ me again. I am happily married, but that is still very nice. One of my friends husbands saw me at the high school fball game and told her how hot I looked. I am having a little set back this week, halloween and all. I will make it through it though. Keep up the good work July bandsters!

Before surgery I was a 22/24. Today I put on a pair of size 14 Gap jeans, that I havent wore in 3 years. Bye bye to the plus size stores. It's a great feeling.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
