hello from pam92 in california

I have lots of questions. I am still looking into banding vs. gastric bypass. Have the readers of this had the lap band? How has it helped you in your medical issues, i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure and the like? How fast have you lost weight? Have you had any problems with the procedure?

I appreciate anyone and everyone who will help me with these questions.

well hello pam - well i love mine i am 3 months tomorrow and i am at 50 lbs... It has been hard but i would not change it for the world. I was back at work after 4 days and workingout about 2 weeks later and been going good ever since. I would take back not eating enough fiber and being constipated but that has all changed now. I chose this because it isnt the last thingi could do if i do not suceed at this i still can get the gastric bypass. With this i feel like i am still working at it and really trying . It is a very easy thing to do i would not trade it for the world. Good luck and take care

I had my lap band 6 weeks ago and I have lost 25 pounds(no fill yet) and I have come off all my meds(diabetes, blood pressure and Gerd). I fell great!

Yes, I have the Lap Band.

I didn't have many health issues, just PCOS and I have been off my Metformin since surgery and all of my PCOS symptoms have improved most have disappeared. I go to see my Endo in November for bloodwork to make sure that my PCOS is in remission. I also had back and knee pain that is gone now and I sleep more comfortably at night.

I had mine done about four months ago and I am down 49 pounds and half way to my goal weight already.

I have had no problems with the procedure. I was back to work within a week and feeling great within two weeks.
