I was down for about a week but for about 3 weeks I got real tried easy. After about 3 weeks I was back to normal. Hope this helps. When is your surgury and what type of work do you do? I work in a warehouse, so I really have to work. If I worked in a office then I could have of went back to work in 2 or 3 days.

All it has to be is when you have gone to the doctor for anything and they always weigh you. Tell them you need a paper with your weight on it when you were seen at there office. Tell them what you are trying to do! That is what i did and that is all they needed. Good luck!

Dang why have you not drank anything? They had me drinking as soon as I came out of recovery. You need to drink, drink, and drink so more!

Honey dont give up! I was band Aug. 08 and I have only lost 40 lbs. I have a 9cc. band and I am at 7.5cc now and I finally feel restriction but not alot. As soon as you get to your sweet spot then the weight will start coming off. they like to give the fills slowwwwww. Tell yourself that this is going to work and make it work. You have to have will power. My big problem is when I eat my body is telling me I am full BUT my mind is telling me girl eat that food because you know you want it. If you will eat a small amount then sit there and ask yourself ok am I still hungry and I bet you are not, so all it is is your mind! Its all in your head. We have to learn to listen to our body and not our mind. Good luck!

Hello! Everyones sweet spot is different. My hubby and I have the 9cc band. I have 7.5cc in mine and I have great restriction. My hubby had a complete unfill so his band is empty and he has restriction. I can eat more than him, so when they say everyone is different then believe it! Good luck to you and your day is coming when you feel restriction....trust me!

Dang 5 fills only put you at 1.5cc. I just had my 5th fill yesterday and it put me at 7.5cc. I have the 9cc. realize band. That does not mean you cant put fluid in the band. You can get as many fills as you need.

Yes!!!!! I had the flu about 2 months ago and it was bad. I couldnt throw up either and it hurt so bad. I ask my dr. about it and he said it was normal! Hope he gets to feeling better.

I would do the drive if I was you. My insurance paid all of mine except for $75.00 for the nutrition class and $50.00 copay when I went in the hospital for surgury. Good luck!

All Dr. Schmitt had me do is the day before surgury I was on liquids and nothing to eat or drink after midnight. Good luck to you!

If I was you I would call Dr. Miles office. Stay on them. That is what I did. Also you could call your insurance company and will tell you if you will be approved or not. I hope you do. Let us know!

Hello! I also had my surgury in Birmingham. Dr. Schmitt did my surgury. He is in with Dr. Miles. My husband saw Dr. Miles back in Jan. because he was on call. He is real nice. Also my cousin used Miles for her surgury and she loves him. Good luck to you!

Sorry to hear about your hubby. All I took off was 5 days and that was great. You could take less than that if you have a desk job. Good luck!

I am in the same boat with you also. I was banded Aug. 22 and have lost 36 pounds. Dont dont eat alot. I dont eat breads. All I drink is water. I walk at least 2 miles a day. I have a 9cc band and have 7cc in the band. I wish someone would tell me something!

Yes this happened to me. I had to get my CPAP brought out to my house. The machine has a card in the back of it that looks like a credit card and it records everything. It can tell if you just turned it on but didnt really have it on your face and everything. After 2 weeks I had to pull the card out and send it to the doctor and they read the card and made sure I was really sleeping with the machine and then they cleared me for my surgury. The doctor had to send my doctor doing the surgury a letter clearing me before they would give me a surgury date. After they brought my machine out it took about 3 weeks before I got my surgury date. Stay on top of things like call the doctor and tell them you sent your card in 3 days ago and you just wanted to make sure they got it and then call you surgeons office and tell them you sent you card in to dr. ----- and you were wondering did they get your letter clearing you for your surgury. Bug them! Good luck.

i have a male friend that had the lap band about 4 months ago and he is having a problem in the bedroom. He said he has lost his nature and he is only 40 yrs. old. Has anyone been through this or could it be not related to the band?

I say go through with the surgury. I promise you will not be sorry. it is much easier to diet with the band. Good luck!

If that is the case then you will be able to work the day after your surgury. You will already be on the couch or bed so when you get tried then all you have to do is take a nap!

I had the stomach flu about 2 months ago and I thought I was going to die. I could not throw up for nothing and it hurt so bad when I was trying to. I did this for 2 days and then I got better.
