  3. I was just wondering does anyone know how many cc a realize band holds? I ask my doctor and he told me that the realize band only had one size band and it was 9cc but I was reading on here the other day and someone said they had the realize band and theirs hold 10 or 12cc. I was just wondering.

  6. I promise you will be fine. I was banded 5 weeks ago. The day I came home from having surgury I slept all day and night. I didnt have but a little bit of pain that I didnt have to take pain meds. for. I took pain meds. 2 times after surgury and that was so I could sleep good. I have had about 2 c-sections, tubes tied, hysterectomy, bladder tact, gall bladder removed and corrpal tunnell surgury and now lap band and I would have to say that lap band was by far the easiest! The main thing is to drink water and walk and I promise you will be ok! Good luck.
  7. I took off a week and I felt fine. If you do office work then you will be fine to go back after a few days. It would be good to have your surgury on like a Wed. and just take 3 days off and then have the weekend to. I had to go back to the doctor after one week to have my staples taken out.
  8. Both problems are normal. I was banded Aug. 22 and it lasted for about 3 weeks! It will get better.
  9. I have BCBS PPO and my hubby works for Honda. I had to do the 6 month diet and sleep study and cant remember what else but once I was finished and paperwork turned in the was approved in about 1 week and so was my hubby! If I was you I would call the doctors office and ask them have they heard anything from ins. company yet because they are busy and they will call you when they get a chance and that is not soon enough for me. They are use to people calling them asking them that question.
  10. I went home the same day. I can rest better in my own bed and house than in the hospital. My hubby was a big help also. I was banded the 22nd of Aug. and hubby will be banded Oct. 6th.
  11. I have BCBS of Alabama and it does not cover it BUT my husband has BCBS of Alabama and his does cover it. I payed $50.00 co-pay and it covered the rest.
  12. I could not burp for about 3 weeks and it is still hard to burp sometimes.
  13. I believe I would have to pay them $1.00 a week!
  14. I am 5 weeks out and I have ate steak and I chewed very well and it went down fine!
  15. I talked to my doctor about that because I have 18 stairs to get into my apartment then my apartment is up/downstairs also. He said that it would not be a problem at all!
  16. I slept in my bed with no problem! Good luck.
  17. I use the CPAP machine and I have not had any trouble what so ever. Since my surgury Aug. 22, 2008 I have not had to take one shot of insulin, not one BP med. or noe one Nexium for reflux. I have not had heartburn one time. Hope this helps!
  18. Good luck to the both of you. I was banded on Aug. 22 and my husband is going to be banded on Oct. 6. I hope it will make things easier with both of us being banded! Let us know how things turn out.
  19. They will ask you when you go in for surgury do you have any jewlery on but most women wear nails so if they didnt wont you to have nails it seem like they would tell you that when you pre-admit. My finger nails were not done but my toes had french manicare on them and they didnt say a word.
  20. Our dr. said no more drinking after surgury but I am wondering do you have to stop drinking it before surgury like with smoking you have to stop like 2 weeks before they will do the surgury!
  21. Apples you have been banded 3 months and have already dropped 96 pounds! Man that is GREAT! I wish I could do that. What is your secret?
  22. i know what you mean missy. That is the hardest thing for me to do also. Does anyone know how long they require you to stop drinking alohcol before surgury? i was banded Aug. 22 but my hubby will be banded Oct.6 and he drinks alot of beer!
  23. Yea Judy! I know you cant wait because I was the same way. I am from Alabama also. I was banded at St. Vincent East in Birmingham. Good luck!
  24. I have to take stool softeners also. I only take them about twice a week!
  25. Sorry you feel bad but the only way to get to feeling better and to stop the pain is to walk, drink, walk and drink. I know you dont feel like it but it will really make you feel better. Good luck!
