WHY are people voting for McCain?

Recommended Posts

I am voting for McCain! Obama is SCARY and it isn't because he's black. Get over the race card!

Why does he scare you? Because he is intelligent and well-educated and you are used to a moron running the state?

Comments like that make me regret responding to this post. I have my reasons as you have yours. If he does not scare you well then good for you enjoy your right to vote for him but dont think it gives you the right to disrespect others!

but didn't papa bush start the pissing contest that baby bush felt oblige to finish?

chachas research was presented on the today show on friday when matt lauer interviewed clinton. he actually gave a great response - utube it.

each party has it's share of those who are not fond of their parties selection...move along past this point - those on the fence are still not convinced of either - that's the issue; not us who already have a definite candidate in mind.

i loved tina fey last night playing palin in the interview w/couric asking for a lifeline / or to call a friend to answer a question....HILLARIOUS

I keep continuing to forget to watch SNL; I am so pissed! I saw Fey's depiction the first week on youtube; it was hilarious! She got the accent spot on!

Yes re: Poppa Bush. Supposedly bin Laden sent him a note wanting to meet and he blew him off (understandably). Supposedly that begun the hatred.

I can't imagine wanting to run for President these days. There's way too crap they have to put up with. There are definitely things I agree with McCain on and things I disagree on with Obama but I agree more with Obama.

I was just on selectsmart.com. I hadn't realized that McCain was for gay marriage or a civil union as much as he been against. Also, didn't know that Obama was against gay marriage but for something civil (for him to supposedly be soooo leftish.) Interesting.

re; "As we say where I am from ,"Republicans there's no future in your frontin'!""

I have no idea what this means.

I did say where I'm from.

To translate, frontin' is short for fronting. To put up a front, a facade.

How can the republicans hope for success, real success if they continue putting up facades.

IMHO

I usually dont talk politics because it can really bring out the worst in people. I feel as long as you can live comfortably with your choice that is all that matters the rest will become history.

I agree with that sentiment.

Now I am big on attack the issue and not the person. In this case I don't think she was being disrespectful. I think she was just having fun with the rant. I hope no one felt personally attacked. It just didn't come off that way to me. I hope I'm right.

April - you're about as far away from surgery as I have until my surgery. Have any thoughts you'd like to share? Anything you would do the same and/or differently? Thx!

OMG! It is so different being on this side of the band. I keep touching my port kinda like a pregnant woman touches her belly-incredulous!

Hmm.. What everyone said about gas was very true for me. Have all meds. on hand as well as food for liquids and other stages of eating.

I cleaned (think nesting). Especially my kitchen. I organized cabinets and even created a special place for Protein, drink mixes etc.

I have the realize band. It is installed without fill but you are suppose to have restriction simply because of placement. So I am learning my band. My doc. will not do the first fill until 6 weeks out!

I lost 11lbs from day of surgery to 8 days post op. However, it took 1 1/2 more weeks to lose 2 lbs. I think it is because I have started eating more Protein in meat form like grilled fish, chicken salad and moist roasted chicken-that really surprised me. I thought that since I did not have any fill that I would start gaining after I started eating food.< /p>

I hope this helps.

incredulous - I so love big words

I definitely need to go shopping. I found a list online but despise shopping so much that I haven't gone yet. Oh well. I'm still trying to figure out which of the Protein drinks to try.

I too am going to have a Realize band and my doc waits until 6 weeks out for a fill too. (like... omg, haha) I just realized that 6 weeks exactly out for me will be Thanksgiving day. Oh the irony...

PS - loved "high functioning moron" - unfortunately, it seems like there are plenty on both sides.

re; gaining after initial liquid diet

yes, common to some degree....during liquid phase the colon mostly empties. Beginning solids again will find a certain amount of (transient) pounds in the small intestines/colon. Typically than can range 3-4 up to 10 or 12, more in some cases. Add in the extra Fluid (7#/gallon water) and we have many Bandsters lamenting and distressing over an unavoidable physiological reality.

Congratulations to ALL Bandsters en route to New Health.

Oh Jack, you could make the end of the world sound like Thoreau. I love it! I should call you Jack Frost as in Robert Frost.

So Jack where I'm from we would say "Chile, you gon' get fat!" he he

I saw somewhere that McCain was a boxer, and it is common not to look your opponent in the eye. I don't know if this is why he didn't look at Obama, but it is how one newscaster explained his behavior.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
