Both very common and totally normal. Many people cant really eat in the morning at all if they get their restriction right for night time.

And getting tighter at period time is very normal.

I am completely unfilled and on my period you would think I still had a regular fill. Don't know why, and wonder what it must be like to be pregnant and be banded. Not that I intend to but just curious, Nancy.

Yeah, my doctor was telling about the period thing. It has something to do with the hormone that starts with a "P". She was saying something about birth control pills too....their are a lot of things that that effect the tightness of the band. I don't understand why I can barely eat all day and then like clock work...6PM hits and I can eat a lot with no problem?????

I have the same problem I had to get half cc taken out..I was barely getting my liquids in...I told my doc about my period he laughed at the thought..but I kno it was my period that made it tighten up

Your doctor needs to do his homework. It has a lot to do with it. It's hormonal!

Hi Guys,

Fluid changes in the body, hence fluid restriction with the menstrual cycle explains why the band feels tighter at different times. In addition the band also feels tighter first thing in the morning. This is due to fluid changes. While asleep horizontal the fluid is distributed more evenly throughout the body, hence more around the band site. This makes the band feel tighter in the morning. As fluid drains south in your body during the day, less fluid around the banded area means it feels looser later in the day. I agree to get the nice restriction you need for dinner, often a banded individual can't cope with solid food in the morning until about 10am.

Hope that helps.
