It's Been 1 Year since my Lap Band Surgery...

So here are the stats:

75 lbs down

73 inches lost

BP from 160/98 to 114/88.

Sugars from 102 to 83

No aches or pains.

From no exercise to walking 5 hours a week and taking 5-1 hour classes a week.dance.gif

Size 24 to a 12

No diet coke for over a year.

No alcohol for over a year.

Kicked caffeine in the last 4 months.

Still working on the sugar thing...

I also submitted a "Wow" moment to OH and have been informed that my story and picture have been accepted for a future issue. Very Cool.cool2.gif

Best of all, I feel normal. Most of you will know what I mean by this. I don't worry about the size and strength of chairs. I don't measure myself against others to see if I am the biggest person in the room. I just...feel...normal. But the funny thing is, I still feel like the same me inside, just in different packaging.

Best of Luck to Everyone on this Journey,

Susan

Very inspiring!!! Getting my band on the 27th, hope to follow your example. Congrats on all of the hard work you have accomplished!

Please let me know how it all went. My insurance co. just this year added benefits for bariatric surgeries.

I had my surgery in November of 2007. I have lost 70 pounds. I have hit a stand still and I don't want it to stop. I need to lose more weight! I loved your story. Have you ever had to have your band loosened because you got something stuck?

How's your progress since you last posted in September? A co-worker of mine is getting closer to lap-band reality(ins. approval, going to seminar then will be referred to a surgeon etc.). So I'm following her journey as well. I'm going to get organized after my college classes are done for summer and see all of what I have to do in order to get approved also. What a great inspiration all of you are to share your stories and photos!

It was good to see your before and after pics. My surgery date was Feb 24. I have only lost 7 lbs since then. My first fill was last Friday. Was it slow going for you in the beginning? My starting weight was 227 lbs. I have started using elipitical or treadmill for 30 minutes before and after work. Hope that gives me a little kick start! I am getting a little down on myself for not loosing more! But I try to keep telling myself-at least I am not gaining. Used to I would loose 6 lbs- gain 4 lbs then loose 4 lbs gain 6 lbs. and on and on. So no yoyo so far. That is something to be greatfull for. I have never done one of these chat room things before. But I figured any motivation I could get would be good thing!
