Please tell me the process from start to finish

I am new at all of this. Really dont have a clue. I have been approved for a loan that will be there for 6mo. If I am just now starting will I have my surgery before the 6mo is up?

Will you please tell me what happens from start to finish?

You need to go to a seminar (or several) , pick a surgeon, and they can give you an idea of a timeline. It varies for everyone! Self pay usually goes faster but how fast depends on your surgeon etc.

Well, I was 3 weeks from start to surgery. Since I was private pay, it shortened a good bit.

The first thing is to find your doctor or clinic. True Results was an easy choice because they work well with credit and are pretty reasonably priced.

I went in for my consult. While there, I had an EKG and they drew some blood. That was Monday.

On Thursday, I called them, and was told that my test came back OK, and I would be cleared for surgery. The surgeon I was assigned to in the clinic had a date open 2 weeks later. They sent me an e-mail with the pre-op diet.

The day before surgery, I had an appointment where I met the doctor, and sat in a 2 hour class for everyone having surgery the next morning.

At 6:00 AM, I went to the clinic. At 7:15, I was knocked out. At 9:30, I woke up in recovery. At 10:30, my wife drove me home.

That's the fast version... so, yes, since you're private pay, you should easily make the 6 months. But start now.

Hi, I suggest you go to this forum and check out some stories. I just posted my experience top to bottom....Lap-Band Success Stories (NEW!) - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum

Thanks!

Steve-Thanks for breaking that down for me. I am about 3 hours away from Huston. Do you mind me asking how much it cost u there? The dr here cost 15000.

Carr-Thanks for that link!

True Results put me in on a 12,900 plan, which includes surgery and 2 years of follow-up and fills. (the only thing it didn't cover was the initial consult, which was 150.
