Givin' up the ice cream

So I finally decided to give ice cream the boot, or at least keep it down to once a week. For the last 4 or 5 months I've eaten ice cream just about every night. It hasn't been a problem but I'm worried that it will be. So, hard as it is, I'm giving it up. Last night went fine, hoping to keep it up. Anyone else have anything that they are eating regularly that they know they shouldn't and want to join me in the boycott? :crying:

And that RSG is why we each have to find the right message for our psyche. I am the opposite - I have to believe it is a lifestyle change, it is not a diet, or else I will just give in to eat nuts - all the time.

OK VVs - we are heading into the weekend...the danger time for many of us. Let's be strong.

Well, Marcie saw how much I enjoyed that icecream, so at the grocery store she saw it was on sale and pointed and I said "No, I don't need that. I can't have a small serving." and she nodded and we bought some apples and some laughing cow cheese.

I felt a little proud of myself.

And you should be proud, RSG. It seems like Marci could be a 'sober second thought' for you; have you recruited her to help you? Not as a parent/child thing, but rather as a partner who wants to support in any way possible including helping you avoid triggers?

She gave up white bread with me, but she's got that southern lady thing that if something makes me happy, she wants to buy me five of them. She actually used to be 330 herself and now she is 180, so she said she wouldn't dare tell anyone else what they should or shouldn't eat, with all the things she went through (330 at 16)

Ready - you two are just so cute. You're both truly blessed to have such a wonderful relationship. And you deserve it!

You know, I agree with you there. My Dr kept telling me your not on a diet, your not on a diet...so when I thought...I really shouldn't eat that my mind told me back "Why not? Your not on a diet."

I couldn't figure that out. I couldn't understand why I can't get it through my head that a life style change does not mean a free for all. You summed it up perfectly! I guess my mind thinks I can have whatever I want cause I am not on a diet.

I can't wait til my peanut butter shakes get here. I am going to really try to do a week of liquids. Made with water, they are 120 calories so even if I had 6 a day, I would be under 1,000 calories.

;)

RSG - What she said :iagree:

I'm lucky to have her, and lucky to have you guys too!

Guess what? No icecream this weekend! I went walking alot too! WAlked my feet off almost. I wasn't perfect, but it was a much better weekend.

Yeah RSG! Perfect? No one is perfect. As long as you had a good weekend - moderate food, and some exercise.

My bf brought Ben & Jerry's over. I need to tell him to stop doing that. sometimes I buy the little weight watcher cups which are 140 calories. I should just eat those. They have little .99 cups of Ben and Jerrys he could have instead of buying a pint to split. I bet half a pint is 600 calories.:(

lunch today was so good. laughing cow cheese and salmon on whole wheat crackers and a few black berries.

I just wanted to share. I really like that lite laughing cow cheese.

Just keep swimming ATD.

ATD - Don't let B&J drag you to the dark side...have a chat with BF and just keep swimming (as RSG says)

Yeah, I am going to talk to him. I can't have that B & J in the house. He likes to have ice cream around on the weekends after dinner, but I have also bought 100 calorie

ice cream sandwiches and 40 calorie fudgsicles.

My friend brought over a sinful thing that I will never ever allow in my house again.

Cinnabun Muffins.

They were so soft, and sweet, and yummy, and I ordered her to take them home with her when she left.

Went to the dr. today. He won't let me have any of my fill back. He said I need to be on all protein.

Does anyone know what kidney stones feel like? I am in pain and my UA said I have crystals in my urine. That comes from too much protein in the diet, according to what I read online. I guess I need to stick with veggies if I can't have that much protein?
