Losing more inches than pounds. Anyone else experiencing this??

Recommended Posts

I have been stuck at the same weight for a long while (2 months at least)yet I am continuing to lose inches. I work out at Curves on average 4 times per week, I walk at least 3 times per week, do exercises at home and do treadmill/ bikes at work when my schedule allows. I have always lost more inches than pounds but here lately seems the pounds are not disapparing off of the scale at all. I have been 225-227 forever despite all the exercise, staying within my calorie& Protein range too. People say that this is good because means I am toning up and gaining muscle. I am grateful for what i have accomplished & know it's better than gaining. But I want the scale to move a little bit. If nothing else but for my sanity. I no longer weigh daily. I'm not trying to be a body builder. I have alot of fat left on me that could definitely stand to go. Right now, I am in a size 16 comfortably in most everything. I just know I cannot continue to be 225ish and wear a size 12. There's not that much toning in the world. My goal is 199 pounds. When go to the doc they only weigh me, they don't take measurements and compare. I can invision my chart w/ my weight log saying a big "0" for no pounds lost since last fill. i feel that I have good restriction right now so that is not the issue. Will it ever level off and the pounds start coming off as opposed to inches?? Anyone else out there experiencing this??

Hi there!

I had that happen to me about a month ago. I was down a whole dress size but that number didn't go anywhere! Just stick to the plan and the number will go down. I know its hard and frustration when you look at that number but soon enough youll feel it!

I'm right there with you! I have been at 222 for about a month, give or take a pound here and there. I had just started exercising about the time the weight stopped coming off. I know I'm losing inches though. My pants got baggier and I came down a pants size. I have started only weighing myself once a week because the daily thing was driving me crazy. I'm trying to have faith that if I keep up the exercising and eating properly that it will eventually start coming off again. Also, I have good restriction and am not overfilled, so that part's not the issue.

Try to vary your meals and workouts - doing the same thing over and over again will not give the body the wake up call.

You can up the intensity of your workout and try some outdoor games.

Personally I care more about inches than pounds. Inches you can see, everyone can see. Pounds only you really know what they are. If I were 180 and wore a size 8 I would be happier than if I were 160 and wore a size 12. Just saying.

hi guys I am in the same boat! I had my third fill and finally have some restriction, I was getting frustrated with all of the working out. But over the past few days I finally came down a full size...so who cares what the scale says right now as long as I keep doing what it is I'm doing it will all work out.

My weight loss results went in spurts of weight then inches and back to weight. At least one day a week you should do something to really task the body. I started out walking on a treadmill for an entire Seinfield without stopping. By the time I stopped my routine and hit goal I was having my wife drop me off at the gas station in town and I would walk the 5 miles home. The next day I would rest and the start my normal routine. You should fail at exercise at least 2 times a week. By failing I mean going until you just cant go anymore.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
