Hi Toots! How is the exercise going, I need some ideas so i'd love to hear what you're up to!

I LOVE Water. I posted a thread about water drinking games, lol. Maybe if anyone if bored they can look...I haven't read it yet since my post but hopefully some cool tips for us ?

Anyone have any exercise ideas? I want a Wii Fit because it's cold here and I use that as an excuse not to go outside. I can't afford it right now.

The exercising is going slow can't get motivated. Maybe will get motivated once it starts to warm up. I know I should get doing it and I would lose more. Haven't been on my Wii Fit for awhile even though I bought some new exersise programs for it.......!

Hello and glad to see you back. I have been thinking this weekend about going in for a 3rd fill very soon. I believe I'll email the doc and let him know I've been losing and gaining the same 1.5 lbs for a few weeks and that I can almost eat anything I want (well, sort of); I know I am eating more in quantity than I should.;)

Ok, I lied, I just bought a Wii Fit, I couldnt take it! I can't wait for it to get here!

Faith it's good to hear from you, you are doing so awesome! You are at 2.5ccs right now? How is the exercise?

Toots...motivation is hard for me with the weather. Do you have Comcast or something? Sometimes I just put on the workout channel and watch, and don't promise myself anything and I'l eventually get up and do part of that, lol!

Just checking in with everyone. Five months. Hard to believe! How is everyone? I'm doing good. I've had 3 fills. I think I may be at the sweet spot or close. YAY! I love my band!

Hi Julie Ann (and everyone)!

Yes, I love my band too! I've gone from tight 22's down to comfortable 16's. I've been hiking, walking, jogging (slow and short), and just started spinning. My most recent "big" achievement was a 10k this weekend. Our YMCA is starting a hiking club and I'm joining that in a couple weeks and then doing a 10 MILE run (which I will walk/jog).

I've had two fills.

I FEEL so much better and my husband loves it that I'm a "cheap" date!

Happy Spring!

~~anne

Hey Everyone. I'm doing well also, but I have stopped losing. I have lost 65 lbs., but I am getting discouraged. It is almost summer and I really wanted to be smaller. Bathing suits are expensive and I don't want to keep buying smaller ones. I am exercising at Curves, maybe I need to go there more often. I may need a fill, my last one was in early January and I am finding that I can eat a little more without any problems. I'm just afraid to get too much fill. I'm not giving up. I feel so much better now. I have gone from a size 26 to a tight,(not too tight) size 18 and it feels great. I have given all my FAT clothes away.

Take care everyone.

Seanie, welcome! What is your fill at?

I was banded 10/10, and according to my doc I am ahead of schedule! A lot of people, once banded, struggle, so I think your loss is phenomenal and you should keep up whatever you are doing that is healthy.

You won't see anyone with low numbers on these boards, cause they aren't really going to post it in a ticker if they aren't doing well if you know what I mean. A lot of fellow Octoberers are rocking it and I couldn't be more proud!

Are you exercising? It took me nearly 4 months to start exercising! I was fighting it all I could but then I hit a plateau, which stayed around for a while since I do a lot of strength training to build muscle. ( I am really, really concerned about loose skin and the tone of my body once I lose all the weight. )

Congrats on your success so far!

Here here is my blog with my guidelines. My Bandster Guidelines..... - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum

I keep track of all my food on www.sparkpeople.com I see that lapband.com also has that option now. There are other free sites as well. I count everything I eat. It has helped me more than anything besides the band.

I work out quite a bit, but started at 30minutes of cardio 3 times a week. Get fills as you need them and eat your solid Protein first then produce. No liquid calories. No bread, Pasta, rice or potatoes.

Good job so far and keep it up!

Welcome Seanie!!

WOW!! Everyone is doing so very well!!!

Amazing!

Julie, thank you for sharing.

I have really increased my fruit and Activa Fiber Yogurt consumption. I fell so good about myself. For Real

I haven't been counting calories or anything. The doc I'm currently enrolled with for fills just tells me to try to eat as normal as my DH; to try to eat half of what I'm used to - skip the fries, etc. and get some exercise.

I'm continuing to walk at work - but not as much as I could. I walk on the treadmill a bit - but not as much as I could.

Can't wait for the weather to break for long walks with DH on the walking trail and bike riding.

Folks at work are really questioning me - they are like WOW!

And I am like... thanks!:)

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
