I'm scared because I really don't know if I can do this. I hear stories of people getting all active and whatever, and I honestly cannot envision me being one of those people. I'm scared because there will be something inside of me for the rest of my life, and that freaks me out a bit. I haven't had any kind of surgery, so the surgery itself scares me. Just everything about it!

It's normal to be scared. This is a big change that we all are making in our lives. It's not like a diet that when you get tired of doing it, you can say the Hell with it and quit. This is something that will take dedication and determination. Trust me, I just had my lapband done monday (Aug 18), the whole way up there I was finding reasons not to do it. I even tried to think of reasons right up until the took me to the OR. But also, trust me, once it is over and done with, you start your recovering period and start thinking about how much better you are going to feel and look, you will realize it is worth it.

sassy, I was just like you, I almost backed out at the last minute. I had my surgery done 5/22 and it was the best thing I have ever done. Loriembree, what you are feeling is VERY normal. I think most of us felt that way. But you will be very happy you did it. As far as being active, you don't have to become an exercise freak. I walk about 30 minutes a day, more only if I feel like it.

Hey! I just had my band also on Monday the 18th! We should be band buddies and compare stories and weight loss!
