6 Month Progress Pics

Recommended Posts

Mac,

Good for you. What an empowering experience. I hope you have great luck finding a new surgeon--one who will listen to you and help to calm your fears. I'm curious. How did the surgeon react when you told him that?

I honestly didn't stick around long enough to look - as soon as I said my peace, I walked out of the exam room, through his lobby and out the door.

two more days and it's my 6 month bandiversary. I will post those pics then.

Only one more day now! Strange how I feel like I know you, and want to see how you are doing...

All of you who have pictures to post - GREAT job. The only before picture I have is the one in my file at the nutritionist office (and it shall remain hidden). No progress pictures either - I still hate the camera, almost as much as I hate the scale. Neither relationship is better yet - I am sure that will come in time.

Mac - I have really picked up my losses by ensuring that I am getting at least 0.37 grams of Protein times my weight. I had to add a snack to get it, but have lost 3 pounds in each of the last two weeks. I was not sure that I believed in the protein amounts until I have followed it closely these last two weeks.

Continue success to all the VVs!!

Happy long Labor Day weekend.

Okay guys, it's the last day of the month. I need more progress pictures. You can do it! Hell, this is the first and only place I've ever posted a picture of me on the web. I still don't like the way I look but I do like being able to see how much I've changed. Come on, FEED ME! ..... Pictures that is.

Congratulations to all of you who are looking and feeling successful at this band thing! I'm so happy for you! (And yes, it is possible to be jealous and happy at the same time.) =)

Unfortunately, I can't post six-month progress pics because there has been no progress. Sassafrassin Q@)#&^#)(*&@#)*(&@#)(*@

I wish I could fire my asshat of a surgeon but unfortunately, he's the only one my insurance will cover. I really admire you for doing what you did Mac! I am going to act really, really ugly if he doesn't give me a fill when I go back on Sept. 11th. I was hoping this thread was chock-full of success stories because I wanted to print it and take it to him and say, "SEE??? You ultra-conservative on fills IDIOT. People with normal surgeons who give them fills are LOSING WEIGHT!!!!"

Grrrrrrrrr.

So let's see some more progress pictures!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
