Emotional Eating

I am trying to figure out the best way to deal with this after I have had my procedue. I am an true to the definition of emotional eater. Right now I am having a bit of anxiety about letting my 5 year son go for a week with my in-laws out of state. He has never been away from me for that long.:crying: So I was just going to make me a snack when I realized I am not even hungry, just a bit nerved up.

How do you guys deal with issues like this and what it the best way to tackle it? BTW I did not eat the snack, no need to since I was not hungry.

I am an emotional eater too. What makes me weird is that I cant eat when I'm mad, but it seems like when I'm over it, I have to eat. I also "crave" alot. I dont know what that's about. When I see others eating I just want something because I see them eating. I need help as well. I'm sure this is why I've only lost 41 pound in 4 and a half months.

I'm in the process of moving into another house. We have been living with my mother in law in my husbands old small bedroom for 3 months and because I am stressed and so eager to go, and the fact that they eat everything known to man, I get the feeling this is why I've not been doing so well. I'm gonna look into the therapy thing first thing Monday morning.

Only 41lbs? Girl, that is a celebration. I for one am proud of u.

JDUB0414 - 41 pounds in 4 month is great and you should be estatic that you are working with your band. That 41 pounds equates to 2 pounds a week and that is what is expected of bandsters. Stress is a triger for me and I just have to learn to redirect my head when that happens. It is not easy but it is a habit that I am determined to break. It's hard work but we will get there.

Hey Claudine, I think I just realized that you are newly banded. How is your recovery going?

Recovery is going well. The clear liquid diet was hard and boring but I toughed it out and made it through. I am now on full liquids and I am feeling full with just a small amount of food and it is lasting about 3 hours. I know am still swollen and healing on the inside, but I feel great. I had very little pain after waking up from surgery. So far, it has not been that bad. I return to work this week so we will see how that goes:cool2:.
